Re: LiFePo4 question.. 3.2v or 3.3v?

Those voltage values seem fine from what I know, they are all closely matched except the last 3 compared to the majority of them. Check your brand specs and see what the peak voltage is and not to go over it any. Over charging cells is not good for them. I'm guessing the last 3 cells are lower in ca...

Re: LiFePo4 question.. 3.2v or 3.3v?

The A123 cylindrical cells are nominal 3.3V and I think the A123 Prismatics are too. Everything else I've see is 3.2V. That may be because the A123 composition may be slightly different then all the others; but I'm not sure. Hope this helps when you are adding up the voltage to do your calculations....

Re: 12 x 4110 MOSFET Extreme Modder Controller LYEN Edition

Peaks of 7500W, spikes of 4000-5000W and some steady 2000-2500W for 30 sec. Heavily modded, air cooled and fan cooled internally, gets pretty warm. I dont burn my fingers touching it, but its pretty warm on the outside in the summer time. Prolly 45c, 50c ? I should probe it next time to see for sure.

Re: Turnigy watt meter for $25

An update for everyone, The meter has been running fine hot modded, and the voltage readings also. I had the votlage reading tuned +1% higher then the actual voltage so When I went to charge my batteries, the amp hour reading it said used was around 250-300mah more then what I actually put back in t...

Re: Turnigy watt meter for $25

I want to run 12s for long rides, 18s for normal rides, and 24s when I want that extra power. Here's what you need to do, you dont even need to take the 27 ohm out if you wont wanna, or even take the boards apart. You will need a 3K ohm 2W resistor for handling the peak 99V from 24S. The 18S will w...

Re: Turnigy watt meter for $25

So I didn't get the new LCD to work with the meter. I tried everything I could here. You would need to use the adjustable resistor or buy a kit that comes with one and they are about $15 i have found. Not worth messing with. As for the high voltage meter readings I haven't had time to do any more te...

Re: Controller mod

In the RC world we usually have our LVC for lipo's 3.1V or 3.2V per cell.

Re: Turnigy watt meter for $25

So I took a pic of both, looks like all I may have to do is swap out the R1 though R6 resistors on the right? all the ones on the new LCD are 472 and all the ones on the old lcd are 222. I do see on the left that the old LCD has some resistors in spots that the new LCD doesn't. What do you guys thin...

Re: Turnigy watt meter for $25

I got a replacement LCD in today but it doesnt show any display. The backlight works though. The pin numbers are the same so I donno what is wrong. Also the replacement LCD is slightly thicker so it doesnt fit right in the Turnigy housing. I then removed the turnigy LCD off the LCD pcb and assembled...

Re: Turnigy watt meter for $25

An update I rigged up a couple more A123 cells to get the voltage up to 86+ volts. The meter maxes out at 82.43V Before the programming would max out at 70.5V. Thats only 11.93V higher then it would read before. This may be why the accuracy is bad on the low end less then the 13V as I stated before....

Re: Controller mod

Depends on the cells you are using. SLA's will be 10.5 or 10.75v per cell. Lipo's are 3.0V per cell, and lifepo4's are 2.0V per cell. Add up the cells. I usually do like 2.4 or 2.5V per cell on my A123's, just to be carefull incase some cells drop lower and not equal to. 23 cells X 2.4 = 55V LVC set...

After about 20 hours of my brother and me programming (mostly him programming) and about 20 trips back and fourth to test the meter we Finally have got it done!!!!!!!! Re: Turnigy watt meter for $25

Just an update, We managed to get the voltage to read higher and scale it so its within 0.1v, but the other functions on the meter like amps and watts are reading values when they are supposed to be zero. We are kinda at a stopping point now because of the conflicting area's between the voltage prog...

Sweet vids!!! Ah the good ol days in the snow. Down here in Texas that only happens once every 10 years! P7 is a great LED, a litle large in diameter though. Here's a new Cree LED thats smaller and will do 260 lumens on 700mah, 3 Amps max, so should out perform the P7. Probably will start seeing the...
