Re: My (almost)complete Electric Enduro

I think shipping n the battery (and seat) was like $150 and that includes everything, not extra taxes or BS. Did you buy those axle covers? Or did they come with the frame? Can you post a close up pic if you have time? I'm making a set for my bike because it just had an M4 screw clamping the axle. T...

Re: Another Stealth bomber (clone) build

@ham width of inner walls of the mount is 23.6mm (probably wider initially but tightening bolts might have closed the gap). So I made some progress this weekend. First I took the hub motor apart so that I could drill a hole in the side cover to inject the statorade when it arrives. I also conformal ...

Re: Another Stealth bomber (clone) build

@Ham, yeah it's a DNM shock. @John, thanks for the reply. I have turned the phase current down from 350A to 250A, hopefully that does the trick. I haven't really been riding much as the battery pack isn't huge, so I've been trying to make small parameter changes in the MQCON app. Like I said above, ...

Re: Another Stealth bomber (clone) build

@Ham ya man so happy to get this thing together for a test ride. Glad to hear yours is coming together too. Let me know how you like those forks. The zooms are meh, when you go over a big bump and the front end let's you know(suspension fully extends and slams)lol. There's also some play I need to g...

Re: My (almost)complete Electric Enduro

Dude awesome build. I'm still getting mine together as well. I need hubsinks bad, took mine out for a spin and the motor was scorching hot when I got back. It was pulling 10Kw for a bit and it was fun. Waiting on my battery from EM3EV to come before I see what this thing can really do. Hope you post...

Re: Another Stealth bomber (clone) build

Well I got the wheels back from the bike shop the other day and it's been non-stop since then. I have been able to make so much progress and the process hasn't been too bad. Not a lot of head scratching- just the way I like it. Progress below. -Wired up scooter battery and placed in bay: This took a...

Re: Another Stealth bomber (clone) build

@Ham, that's awesome man. How does it run? Thanks for the info on the bottom bracket. I talked to the guy I bought it from in China and he ended up giving me a $30 refund which was what I paid for the crank so that was a small win. @lionmam I purchased the braked from Alibaba, the seller I got them ...

Re: Another Stealth bomber (clone) build

@mrsnow Don't buy it, build it! I've been seeing these locally on CL for $6k  Well finally got a bunch of parts in last night, now things can start moving. I tried to mount one of the tires and struggled a bit and gave up. I pulled something in my back the other day and don’t feel like monkeyin...

Re: Another Stealth bomber (clone) build

@cheecko I don’t know, the vendor I was dealing with on alibaba said that they sold tektro brakes, I should know more when they arrive. @Ham thanks man. I share your concerns with having quality welds especially with the abuse I plan to put this thing through. So it’s been a while since I posted las...

Re: Another Stealth bomber (clone) build

So I was able to borrow the tools from my friend before the weekend so that I could get the front end done this weekend. I ended up reaming the headset for the bearings and got them pressed in as well. The front end feels so good now that it's back together. I ended up stripping the head on one of t...

Re: Another Stealth bomber (clone) build

Harmonist, Dude that thing looks sweet. Let me know how you like that battery. I sent em3ev and email about getting a slightly narrower pack (130-135mm) we'll see what they say. I think I'll get the pack regardless and modify the side panels if I have to. Hubmotor, front wheel, controllers, and scre...

Re: Another Stealth bomber (clone) build

Thanks for sharing! I've seen that guy's videos before, he can be pretty animated, but excellent content. I think I'm sold, I'm going to send them an email this week and see if they can make the pack slightly narrower, if not, I'll add standoffs to the side panels to accommodate. So I loosely assemb...

Re: Another Stealth bomber (clone) build

1st off I'm so glad you all chimed in, I really need people to bounce ideas off of- Thank you so much for the replies. Lionman, nice find! I must have been on the wrong site because I only saw 2 different 50v batteries. That looks like a contender for sure. I agree it is a big gamble, which is why I...

Re: Another Stealth bomber (clone) build

John, dimensions of the battery box (tray in the bottom portion of the enclosure not the entire enclosure) are 340*120*150mm according to the manufacturer (Candy Song). Inner walls of frame are 140mm, so 130-135mm is max I can do without modifying the side panels. Lionman, I checked out em3ev and di...

Another Stealth bomber (clone) build

Hey what’s up guys. It’s been about a year since I’ve posted here during my last build which was a 72v scooter. It’s been running like a champ and is fun and all, but I need something else. Anyway, I need to get to the train station everyday ( 5miles) and I also need to get around SF throughout the ...

Re: 250w hub motor scooter mod log

Yea I knew it was a bit too much for him but he insisted and I gave in. It was kinda funny though and he replaced all the parts. Max amps on the BMS is 160 amps (after you modded it). Max battery current has been like 23 Amps (super steep hill full throttle), so the BMS is living the good life. Put ...

Re: 250w hub motor scooter mod log

@mackyyy motor temp is not an issue with this setup. The high voltage allows these motors to pull less current but they still perform well. @EG, The charger is bad ass man. It's still going strong with no issues. I'm starting to have a bit more time to get this thing finished. Last time I posted I b...

Re: 250w hub motor scooter mod log

Well I spent a few days getting the scooter back together and made some tweaks in the process. I ended up notching the back of the battery box to allow more room for the wiring to feed into the battery box. Reassembling the scooter was a bit of a struggle because I had to do it late at night when i ...

Re: 250w hub motor scooter mod log

I was able to get the battery box extensions welded on. It was pretty simple and straightforward as I've already done this once. After it was welded up I sanded the welds down flush so they wouldn't be visible when I painted them, which was the next step. I had a can of flat black plasti dip in the ...

haha yup only rode about 12 miles then tore it down again lol. It's raining today and tomorrow so why not. Re: Superglue for Brushless Motor -----+++

You could maybe try this loctite 410. I've tried jb weld in the past and have had no luck. After applying the jb it wants to run everywhere because of the iron in the resin. Red loctite has a high operating temperature so if you can get it to work that would be ideal. You could also try loctite 410 ...

Re: 250w hub motor scooter mod log

Damn those are some expensive controllers. I'm pretty much at budget for this scooter, but those are definitely good candidates for future projects. I really like how compact they are, and modding them per your suggestion would make them killer. I kinda dig that look of both the controllers on my sc...

Re: 250w hub motor scooter mod log

Got some more work done last night, stayed up til 1 shortening and rerouting wiring. I also got the charger port mounted on the top of the deck for easy access. I'm still using the spacers I made to prop the deck up above the bit of wiring that sits just above the frame rails. I went to lowes today ...

Re: 250w hub motor scooter mod log

What got done: I picked up a brake cable from the bike shop and cut it to ...

Re: 250w hub motor scooter mod log

So I received my BMS from ElectricGod last night and got it wrapped in kapton tape to avoid anything getting shorted out. After that I loosely installed it in the scooter so that I could charge the pack up for the first time since buying them in december. It was pretty simple to hook up and I was ch...
