Re: Post your Pets here!

Thats real cool, Hey That's why I use the kennel in the new trailer. In the pannier/pod she would sit fine, but I also always had the leash tied to the rack so she could not get out of it at all, just in case I had a thought, how about a side car mounted to your ebike so your pet is by your side and...

Re: Post your Pets here!

Then same keyboard set behind her for comparison just now: She's certainly a big dog now, at least she's happy and healthy, a big pet bill is not so bad when they end up being great pets, and yes way too large for panniers, I tried my dog for size in a trailer but she jumped out after a short ride m...

Re: Post your Pets here!

Hachi on the way home from the vets, after the nearly $1600 parvo-curing beyond-bank-breaking bill:

Wow big vet bill, does she ride in the panniers like that?

Re: Can SLA batteries be mounted on an angle

Hey BabylessinOZ... just fyi many stand-up scooter designs regularly mount SLAs on their sides under the deck. Also, 300 cycles is NOT "new" for SLAs! If routinely discharged to 80% DOD (20% remaining) 300 cycles is often considered end of life! If only 50% usually, maybe 600 cycles is possible. I ...

Actually upon reconsideration your suggestion is a very good one amberwolf only mounted lower and further back and ive found some 5kg plastic screw/nail box's which would make pretty good battery box's, and no they will not fit in that triangle

Re: Can SLA batteries be mounted on an angle

Good idea amberwolf, thanks for the input, my concern is though it will make the front too heavy as it is front drive hub and and the gear and brake cables run down the other side of the frame tube, but if I later go for rear wheel hub or other, but who knows may just sit and dwell upon it untill a ...

Re: my new custom bike

Nice looking custom but doesn't look real strong, I could be wrong, have you rid it and does it feel right and consider that you will be adding some weight to it, got plenty of room for batteries though, have fun and keep up with updates

Re: Can SLA batteries be mounted on an angle

They are only 12 ah and measure 10cm h x 10cm w x 15cm long or 4" x 4" x 6' x 3 of and weigh 4.2 kilo's each, you do get used to the weight at back, I tend to lean forward more but it may not be worth the effort if LiFePo4 become more affordable

Re: Need Advice on Converting 1985 Mountain Bike

I've got an old rigid like this one which I was thinking of electrifying but the old cantilever brakes and heavy frame put me off a bit but changing these and forks with shokers would give it a revamp and braking is very important,
ps love the old speedo

mount batteries on top of frame

Thank's for advice, I've decided mounting them on top of the the frame in a small V rather than underneath or find another bike with a rigid rear that has a bigger triangle but this one is so comfortable

Re: 12v x 4 = 48v wire diagram ?

I was going to say the same thing, I blew up my charger after the charge plug fell apart and hastily poked the wrong wires back in mixing the polarities so now I hafto take batteries out and change wiring to parallel then use my 12v car charger till i get my new 36v

Re: Can SLA batteries be mounted on an angle

Thank's again, the batteries are pretty new but only 300 cycles so might leave it for now or if I get a burst of motivation, but it makes the bike fairly top heavy where they are or find a bike with a bigger triangle

Re: Can SLA batteries be mounted on an angle

Thank's for the advise, I suppose you're saying try it,if it doesn't work then the answer is no, now I'm thinking just leave it for now and do something different when the batteries have expired, Cheer's Mark.

Can SLA batteries be mounted on an angle

I'm new to the e bike scene and bought a front wheel hub drive kit including the sealed lead acid batteries and at the moment they are mounted on a carrier at the rear of my giant ds2 bike, as these weigh about 13 kilograms I'm considering mounting them under the frame but they would be on an angle ...
