Bought a new Tonaro (Evelo) bike!!

Today I ordered a new bike!! My old RMartin (Tonaro) has over 3000 miles and still running well but the battery is starting to lag. So, good time for a new bike. I purchased the Evelo Aurora 48 volt 500 watt bike!! Really looking forward to it, feels like Christmas!!! I'm really curious to see the d...

Re: The Invisible bike helmet

Some very sobering statistics on car bike collisions. http://bicycleuniverse.info/transpo/almanac-safety.html I am considering the invisible bike helmet, neck protection is the major reason. Any Physiatrists or Biomedical Engineers out there? Does the Invisible helmet provide better protection again...

Gears

The ebike reviewer doesn't understand the concept of gears. I own a RMartin, same bike as Tonaro, Evelo and IGO, very satisfied with the bike. Hit 3000 miles and still going strong. Next year I'll purchase a second ebike and will go with the IGO, they are coming out with a 48 volt 500 watt version. ...

Re: Magicshine Bicycle Light

I purchased the lights from Geomangear. If they weren't so expensive would have thought they were counterfeits. I saved the boxes in case I had to return them. As I said they were expensive, each over one hundred bucks. The boxes are built better than the lights. http://www.geomangear.com/ Magicshin...

Re: Bicycle Light

I am very disappointed with Magicshine. I was able to replace the charger but both light sets failed. Had to solder a new connecter on one of the lights, the other lights a goner, weak solder joints within the light failed. The main electric lead had a weak rubber grommet securing it. I'm very disap...

Re: Tonaro User group

I have just installed the 48 Volt upgrade (not the upgraded reduction gear just the controller/battery/display panel/headlight/tail light) Wow!!!! What a difference. I went out for my morning ride and it was like being on a different bike. It has so much more speed. I didn't want to use the 3rd pow...

Re: Tonaro User group

I was also thinking of a 48 volt upgrade but local dealer quoted almost 1300 dollars---too much for me. Prefer to purchase the new 48 volt Tonaro version, coming out December according to Tonaro. It will make a great Christmas present. My bike is still holding up well but after almost 3000 miles of ...

Re: Tonaro User group

I have just ordered one of these, maybe it might be of interest to someone. http://www.aseakoelectricbike.com.au/products-page/spare-parts/500w-upgrade-kit/ Cheers, Tony. Excellent price in my opinion. I just saw one listed for 1200 bucks--US currency. The good news is Tonaro (iGO bikes) is coming o...

Re: Optibike competition?

American manufacturers scoffed at the thought of Asians producing any quality goods back in the 1950's. If Tonaro's new 48 volt 500 watt bike is the same quality and durable as the Tonaro bike I own, I think Optbike may have some honest competition. My bike has over 2400 miles, plenty of torque and ...

Re: Optibike competition?

Walmart sells a similar bike for 500 bucks? Totally disagree. My old Tonaro has over 2300 miles, runs great and plenty of torque. If Tonaro produces the same quality bike but with 48 volt 500 powered system, could be real competition for Optibike.

Optibike competition?

Tonaro Bikes is now coming out with a 48 volt 500 watt central drive powered bike. My 36 volt 240 watt tonaro bike still runs quietly, smoothly and with excellent torque despite 3 years old and over 2400 miles. Optibike may have competition? http://www.tonaro.cn/support.html R10 2000 miles.jpg Tonar...

Tonaro Bike How long does a battery last?

My three year old Tonaro bike with over 2300 miles still running well but curious how long will the battery last? I'm thinking of ordering a 48 volt replacement battery from China. The price is OK but the shipping is $78 from China. Shipping price very low in my opinion, am I missing something? http...

Rentals are a great way to introduce the public to electric bikes. I was very impressed by their wide selection of bikes. Purchasing a second EBike is a real temptation.

Electric bikes of New England is now renting Ebikes

Electric Bikes of New England is now renting E bikes. I own and ride a mid drive EBIKE (Tonaro) but wanted to test drive a hub powered bike. I rented a Izip E3 Zuma and was very surprised by its pep and torque. I'm definitely thinking of purchasing a second E Bike! The store has one of the largest c...

48 volt version

I bought my RMartin (Tonaro) bike two years ago. Runs great, still torque and quiet despite 2000 miles. I want to upgrade to a 48 volt battery but looking for something basically plug and play. Re: Tonaro User group

Apparently, Tonaro designed a more durable bearing unit and this more durable one is the one my dealer installed last time. The durable unit lasted 3 weeks instead of the usual 2 but still broke down. I put 3000km on the bike in 60 days and some people have suggested that I wore out the bearing uni...

Optibike M4 Series

Looks like Optibike has come out with a "low cost" version of it's popular $12000 bike. Anyone try it yet? Any reviews? I'm still happy with my 1200 Tonaro Bike--hit 1300 miles and still riding smoothly and very torquey but If my local ebike store carries the low cost Optibike I wouldn't mind going ...
