Re: a2b discontinued from best buy

Not sure what website you're checking but I don't see any discounts at BEST BUY. Am I missing something? Been in the market for either the Velociti or the IZIP Zuma.

Thinking of buying another ebike???

Last year I bought the R Martin 12 A. Great bike, logged in over 700 miles over 5 months but is one bike ever enough? Thinking about purchasing another bike, prefer step thru design and definitely disc brakes. I like the Izip Zuma as well as the A2B Velociti. The A2B is direct drive 400W gearless dr...

Re: 2009 IZIP Express

I like the higher torque thanks to "Evo-drive". Too bad it doesn't come in a step thru style, my aging baby boomer body finds straddling traditional mens style bike cumbersome. Also not sure why the back brake is v style rather than a more reliable disc brake. I'm 200 lbs, don't trust the v brakes. ...

Thanks for the advice you guys. Maybe going on a diet might be easier but for now I'll continue enjoying my R Martin bike and accept the reality. :|

Re: Highest torque but street legal bike.

Good catch. Yes I have a R Martin but spring is around the corner and I want another bike!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't get me wrong my R Martin does hills fine but after looking at an Optibike Video, my interest is really picqued. I don't just want to manage hills, I want to fly up them. Ok maybe I'm not rea...

Highest torque but street legal bike.

I'm interested in building or buying the Highest torque bike but still must be street legal. Another words, no more than 750 watts. Any suggestions? Hate to admit it; even though I exercise everyday my weight is still 200 solid lbs. Unless I drastically starve myself, I need a high torque bike to ma...

I must admit I like the high torque design but question if the battery is built into the frame? I'm assuming it can't be removed to make transport or lugging up a flight of stairs easier??????

Dual Motor electric bike

Two months ago, I bought an electric bike (R Martin). While the bike has plenty of torque, I am not the type of person that is ever satisfied with a stock set up. The bike has steel forks so I decided to add a small (250-watt) front hub motor for extra speed and torque. http://www.electricbikedistri...

The bike came with a 36 V 10 amp battery that fits nicely in it's frame. The front conversion kit I purchased has a 36 V 9 amp battery.

Will this modification be Street legal

Two months ago, I purchased a R Martin Bike, bracket-mounted design with a 200-watt motor--600-peak watt. Very happy with the bike but I am never satisfied with stock set ups. Plan on adding a 250-watt brushless geared hub wheel to the front steel forks. Per US laws, electric motor of no more than 7...

Really sorry about your accident. Another example of how the car culture wins out. Just glad you are OK and only lost a bike. It probably wouldn't hurt to contact his insurance company?

Re: Do bicycles have targets painted on them or are we invis

You don't have to be riding a bike to get hit. I almost got clipped walking thru a parking lot last week. The b**** was driving an oversize SUV, one hand on the steering wheel and the other holding a cell phone to her ear!!!! Really sorry about your accident. Hope you make a fast recovery. Maybe it'...

I recently purchased a front 250 W Conversion kit from AdamS. Unfortunately he sent a rear kit which I will send back Monday. Inspected the kit and looks very nice. Great price--250 W geared brushless wheel, controller and a 36V9Ah Li-Ion lightweight battery for $450!! Unfortunately I need a front k...

Re: store bought or home made?

Last summer I purchased a diy kit, over a thousand bucks and unfortunately it had some issues. Spent more time fixing shoddy connections then biking!! This summer I bought a R Martin bike. Good torque, decent range and well made bike. Nice to just turn a key and go. The cost of the bike is about the...

Bright lights. Ensuring you are highly visible and always drive defensively is probably you're best bet. I use Monkey lights and Magic shine head lights when I bike on cloudy days or in the evenng. http://www.geomangear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4_41&products_id=161 http://www.monke...

Re: Coast to Coast E-Bike Ride ... what are the logistics?

I save my empathy for those truly disabled. If you can walk, talk and are cognitively intact, you can work. Everyday I see patients who are missing legs, arms, or whose bodies are ravaged by age or disease, I save my empathy for them. As I said if you could ride a bike and plan a cross-country trip,...

Re: Running two Hubs

How about using a front conversion kit for throttle control and the rear hub for PAS? Of course, use two separate controllers and two separate batteries. How does that sound?
