Re: hybridmojo

Nice bike but is it Street Legal? While I applaud anyone biking rather than riding a car. I worry these over powered bikes might give street legal e bikes a bad reputation?

Re: Coast to Coast E-Bike Ride ... what are the logistics?

George, I may regret this and I don't know LI so he could be a scammer but... I have nerve damage, adhd, bipolar (diagnosed and medicated for years) all of which qualifies me for disability but I don't collect it. My father has RP (Retinitus Pigmatosis) which means he is going (mostly there) blind ...

Re: Coast to Coast E-Bike Ride ... what are the logistics?

Your post really bothers me. You have a reliable income (disability check)? I have worked in the medical field for almost 30 years and go ballistic when I see healthy people scamming the system. You are disabled but still able to make a cross country E bike trip??????????????? Give your fellow ameri...

Re: Second accident - General question

Glad you are OK. Unfortunately with the advent of cell phones and drivers distraced by all their toys, accidents are becomming too common. I almost got hit yesterday crossing a parking lot and I wasn't even biking. The driver had one hand on the steering wheel, the other on her cell phone! I recentl...

Re: Pedego bikes?

You might want to consider a R Martin bike. Bought mine about 5 weeks ago and already logged 300 miles on it. Very satisfied with the price, quality and ride. Check it out.

Re: Cytronex system

Nice looking bikes but I bet the buyers will quickly tire of the underpowered system? Yes their power is "'invisible assistance" but would rather have adequate power when biking up a hill. They also don't come with a throttle because"throttles are not convenient to use whilst riding a bike. A twist ...

Evo, sorry about the poor wording. Yes, I was happy with the lights so purchased a second set but this time from Dealextreme. Poor desicion, should have used GeoManGear. They shipped the same day I ordered it. Dealextreme is still "Awaiting Stock"--it's been 10 days!

Re: Gette bikes spotted at my LBS

Looks very similar to the R Martin bikes? They also use a bracket-mounted system that offers superior torque compared to comparable hub motor bikes. I bought my R 12a Martin bike a few weeks ago and already have 200 miles on it. Really impressed with its hill climbing abilities. http://www.electricb...

Stay away from dealextreme. Ordered another Magicshine 16 W 1400LM Bicycle Lights on July 16th and they haven't even been shipped!! My first set I bought from GeoManGear, they shipped within a day. This time I went with Dealextreme. Bad choice. According to their tracking system: " Processing - Awai...

Evo You are right, if I would have spent more time searching and had more experience with E bikes, I could have found a much cheaper deal but being a newbie, wanted something reliable and plug n play. Yes there are great deals out there but last summer I bought a DIY electric bike conversion kit, br...

Re: Really like (love) my new bike.

Sometimes buying a prebuilt E bike is more economical. Last year I bought an e bike conversion kit for a 1000 dollars. It came with a 36 V 10 amp lipo battery and 750 W DD hub motor. Sure converting an old bike with steel forks wasn't too hard but the kit's connections were less than solid and I spe...

Re: Front hub motor and forks

A powerful brushless hub motor on a front aluminum fork? Do you actually have the discipline of not hitting the throttle too fast? Lots of guys also promise to pull out first, but most don't. I don't think it's worth the risk or possible harm.

Magicshine GeoManGear

I went with the Magicshine GeomanGear 16 W 1400 LM lights. Just arrived today, charged the battery, mounted the light on my handle bar and off I went. No comparison between these lights and the cheap little Bell Lights with the AAA batteries. These lights rock. Very happy with the product, just wish...

It's actually very quiet. Sometimes a slight hum but either than that, often can't hear it. The wind is louder than the motor.

Really like (love) my new bike.

Three weeks ago, my R Martin 12a bike arrived. Initially I was a little disappointed with the power (torque). Well, I was wrong. I did not realize you had to down shift, like a car, when going up hill to get maximum torque. I am surprised how easy it is to climb mountains just by shifting down. I ha...
