Re: Best lube

I did it. Removed the original grease and applied White Lightning. I hope I will not regret it. Every day I carry my bike up and down two flights of stairs; do not trust leaving my bike chained outside my apartment. Even though carrying my bike is a labor of love, doing extra laundry is not. Tired o...

Best lube

Recently bought a new bike; R Martin R 12a. Great bike, excellent quality and fun to ride. Now, how do I maintain it? What type of grease do I lube the chain with? It's only 2 weeks old and already the chain is black, greasy and gritty. Seems like grease attracts dirt. Does White Lightning Easy Lube...

Re: You know your a E-Biker when ....

You found new use for your ski clothing. Even though it's 20 degrees and pitch black, a good front light and warm ski clothing wont stop you from enjoying a long winter drive!

Re: Modifying Store bought E Bike R Martin 12a

My idea was to use the new brushless hub for the front wheel, activated by the throttle. And use the original pedelc for the main, original motor. The added brushless hub is free wheeling so would only use it for additional torq and speed when necessary. I have a spare 37 v 10 amp LI battery from my...

Re: German 60 mph E-Bike Blacktrail : €59.500

Wow!!! So expensive and ugly! Sorry to say but that's one of the ugliest looking bikes I have ever seen. Let the Eurotrash ride their expensive ugly looking bikes. It's obviously meant for those with more money than taste or common sense.

Modifying Store bought E Bike R Martin 12a

Recently I purchased a R Martin 12 a. Very nice bike. Excellent quality but I want more torque. Thinking of putting a 250 W brushless motor on the front, independent of the bikes controller and battery, the added on motor hub would have it's own controller/battery. Anyone out there modify a store bou...

Re: Front Suspension

Cost? My R Martin has front suspension but it's not adjustable. Thinking of changing the forks to a better quality. Did you do it yourself or pay a bike shop? What's the average cost? Thanks.

If I lived in Chicago would take up your offer. Do you know where I can purchase a 200-250 watt brushless hub motor and controller? Thanks.

Best Lights

I do a lot of evening biking and looking for the brightest bicycle lights. Any suggestions? Thinking of purchasing the Dual Halogen Lights with anderson taps from Cycle Analyst. I think they plug right into the battery? Are they brighter than the cheap LED lights powered by AAA batteries you can get...

Re: Bicycle Snobbery

The torque is OK for the average person but I'm not an average person. 50 Y/O overweight ageing baby boomer here. I'm hitting the scales at 210 lbs. As I said, the bike is excellent but being as heavy as I am, could use more torque. I'm about 40 lbs overweight. Yes, I do peddle and no objection to a...

Re: R Martin: R10

I bought the R Martin R 12A and very happy with my decision. It's a well built bike worth the money. No tax and free shipping. The bike is well made, the electrical components are well hidden and top notch. The battery is also well engineered. I appreciate the combination of throttle controll and pe...

The bike arrived!!!

My R Martin R 12a bike arrived in a big brown box. Assembly required. I installed the front wheel, fender, adjusted the brakes, charged the battery and also installed the handle bars. My impression: Very high quality bike, good tires, well thought of design. Really like the easily accessed battery h...

Re: Bicycle Snobbery

Buyer remorse? Bike should be here Monday but I'm really nervous. Excited but scared I may be disappointed. Bicycle Snobbery

I've been looking to purchase an electric bicycle for the last year and VERY disappointed with the snobbery I get everytime I walk into a bicycle shop. I would ask do you stock electric bikes and often hear attitude and smart remarks like ' we have mucles, don't need motors' or they would make a fun...
