Varia bike radar

Any reviews on Garmin's new bike radar. I've logged almost 3000 miles the last 15 months and while I've enjoyed almost every mile my biggest fear is getting hit by a car. I've equipped my bike with 2000 lumen head and rear lights but with all the distracted drivers I still get nervous. Anyone try th...

No Motorized Vehicles allowed

I'm thinking of biking in New Hampshire tomorrow but noticed the bike path prohibits "motorized vehicles". I guess this means Electric bikes? I don't want to break the law but hate to think my street legal ebike isn't permitted on State Park bike paths. Any lawyers out there? Comments appreciated. T...

E Bike Automatic Transmission

Well, it looks like Nuvinci is producing an Automatic Transmission type hub. Very interesting. Any reviews yet?

Re: EBike Insurance

Nationwide!! I stopped by my local Nationwide Insurance office this morning and YES they cover Ebikes. Their Motorcycle policies have a separate category for "Electric Bikes". I supplied the make, model, serial number, battery voltage, and watts. For $187/year I'm covered for replacement and liabili...

Re: Just received my new wheel, any suggestions?

Make friends with your local bike shop!! Your ebike is still 95% bike so maintenance is important. Ebiked d/t their weight and speed need more maintenance; brakes, chains and gears are stressed more so frequent adjustments and replacing brake pads are a must. Also, don't forget the tip. They guys at...

EBike Insurance

Ebike Insurance. Ebikes aren't cheap, replacing my bike would cost about 3000 bucks. Home owner's insurance probably doesn't cover ebikes. Anyone buy Ebike insurance? Any suggestions and reviews? Thanks.

Re: NUVINCI N360 Drivetrain

16T cog solved the problem!!! Rides like a different bike, I start off on a low gear and shift to higher gears for a smooth powerful ride. Highest gear provides 19-20 MPH at a comfortable cadence. My local bike shop swapped the gear this morning and replaced the worn out chain in under 30 minutes!!!...

E Bike tires

Can anyone recommend E bike "ready tires". I've logged almost 2000 miles on my 1 year old 48 volt Evelo Ebike and have sustained 4 flats, two broken spokes and one blow out. The broken spokes I blame on Vermont's notorious pot holes and the flats to 2000 miles. Are tires designed for Ebikes superior...

The stock build is 17T so that's what Evelo is mailing out. I just purchased a 16T from Amazon, we'll see how it goes. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Re: NUVINCI N360 Drivetrain

Evelo responded to my question. Turns out the bike was shipped with a 18T sprocket instead of a 17T. Evelo is shipping me a 17T, they said I can go as low as 16 but the stock is 17T.

Re: NUVINCI N360 Drivetrain

Appreciate your advice, thanks. I just emailed Evelo, let's see what they say. As I said my bike is running well--logged in almost 2000 miles but find myself almost always in the highest "gear" setting.

NUVINCI N360 Drivetrain

My 48 Volt Evelo Ebike came with a Nuvinci Drive train. Shifts well but I need higher gears. I find myself ridding in the highest gear most the time. It's properly installed and shifts easily but higher gears would be appreciated. Any suggestions? http://www.evelo.com/evelo-difference/nuvinci-n360-d...

Bicycle tire patch kit

I got a flat this morning while riding. I used Ultra Bike Tire repair after I removed the nail, unfortunately flat a few minutes later. Luckily the local bike shop was still open and only a few blocks away, after 45 minutes--enough time to grab a bagel and coffee the tire was repaired. I've changed ...

Re: Tonaro User group

Yes my bike was "repaired". It took almost three weeks. The Evelo recommended bike shop "MYBIKE" admitted to knowing nothing about Evelo bikes and don't even sell the brand. Also, there was virtually no communication between the bike staff. They said they replaced the power panel but it still had a ...

Bike Rack

I just purchased a new bike--An Evelo 48 volt bike. Electric bikes are inherently heavy, even the best ones so need some suggestions for a sturdy safe bike rack. The bike's wt feels the same probably d/t the Nuvinci N360 hub, does add a few lbs but it's worth it. Extremely smooth shifting. The bike is 500 watts, 48 volt and 10 amps. The Instrument Panel is large, easy to read and programmable. I only wish it had more features like the date/time and temperatu...
