Re: Surly Pugsley Electric conversion?
Ultra cool bike, i always thought they'd make a good conversion, i think the tyres may be designed for sand and dusty surfaces. The pugsley is usually used as a mule to carry luggage i.e camping equipment etc hence large rims and tyres The frame also has the added bonus of horizontal rear dropouts :...

Re: 120% setting on sensorless controller
Hi Mark Ginge is building me a pack but i don't think he would trust me with the responsibility of lipos. He is currentiy rebuilding two 54v li-ion packs into one big 84v pack which i hope to run with my pie and my Lyens 12 fet controller. He's built a few packs for me and this one is intended to be...

Re: 120% setting on sensorless controller
Hi both, serves you both right for trying to be clever by going sensorless. It seems that you pay a bit of price on the speed front. Scorpion, Ginge is meant to be building me a battery pack at present so i'm chasing him from forum to forum with gentle reminders :D I cannot help with the 120% settin...

Re: Can i test the rated voltage of my geared hub motors?
Sorry for my delayed reply. I am currently on a steep learning curve and appriciate the detailed feedback. I've just got the bike up and running with a 54v 20ah pack shared between the two motors. As you say running twice the wattage is iffy - which i am doing now, i will probably tamed things down ...

Can i test the rated voltage of my geared hub motors?
Hi, I have two 250w geared motors from Golden Motor. One is rated 24v, the other 36v. How can i find out which is which? Also, will i be able to run these motors together on my bike. One front, one rear, as if they were the same voltage? I have my controllers set-up ready to take both, but I'm worri...

Re: Grim News on the Oil Front!
It was BP's business parters and owners of the oil rig 'Transocean' who's equipment i.e their cement slurry that was meant to prevent a gas leak in the well which caused the explosion, which caused the leak.

Re: Help finding a solution to Bafang gear stripping
I've just finished reading this 22 page thread and thought i'd bring it back to life. :) has there since been anymore failures with or without the metal gear? I'm in a similar situation with a Golden Motor '902 prokit' which is geared and rated at 36v 250watt. I have not received the motor yet so ha...

cell_man is Paul. http://endless-sphere.com/forums/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=14820 FWIW, no one can give you an absolute safe wattage for geared motors, and it's all a trade off against relaibility, cost, speed etc Personally I'd say 1200-1800W depending on the motor type, usage, rider ...

Re: 250w gear motor. what amp limit not to kill the gears.
Thanks for all the replies, there are obviously lots of opinions. The motors are not Bafangs, they are Golden Motor 902 Prokit motors. i already run a very successful front and rear 'magic pie' bike which is great and runs without any problems so please do not start warnig me about the company's rep...

250w gear motor. what amp limit not to kill the gears.
Hi everyone. I'm a new member and first time question asker so please don't slam me! I'm in the UK and am suffering from hardcore e-bike regulations. I am currently trying to bend the UK rules by being as incognito as i can with my set-up. I have two 250watt geared 'mini' motors. I also have a 54v 2...

nice to see another Great British build! If like me you've probably got one eye on the road and one other looking over your shoulder
When at speed i wish i had a full suspension bike and not a hard tail on the rough UK roads.

Re: 8-piston gator brakes -
i think the idea that the more pistons you have the more powerful the brakes is a bit of an urban myth. With high performance car modification it is often used as a selling gimic, if the caliper is huge and has 8 pistons it must have awesome stopping power. I think it's more to do with the brake in ...

I just soldered two battery power cables to one battery Andersons connector and then joined the throttle wires together from both motors and connected to...
