Re: Building a 100% DIY ESC for motors

thorlancaster328 I would go trough Arlo's treads, all of them, time you have waiting for parts, there are a lot of underwater rocks you could eliminate, without burning thousands of USD on components to get there. If you get Highhopes to look at your project, he can provide you a huge short-cut to s...

Aliexpress. How does it work and what to expect?

I am new to aliexpress and many specifics are new to me, after using ebay and amazon. I think, there is a need to have some compilation of things to expect and experiences to share about this platform. 1 thing I noticed is a supper slow and funny shipping, not corresponding to options you have avail...

put a piece of painters tape on the cell, IR meters dont like reflective surfaces so the temperature wont read right. reading the tape helps a lot.
Black permanent marker is thinner layer, no trapped air inside, temp changes response and accuracy is higher.

Re: My 38kw, 138v, 3.8kwh LTO Battery

I mean horizontally on top of the plate like I did but in 4 straight lines on some raisers like you say. ABS vicat is 105C and board will probably get there without any heat sink, or you remove 1 resistor and it probably will be OK then.

Re: Panosonic 25ah Prismatic cells for sale $22

Hi Eric. 1.13"/cell looks right, where array starts to hold in 1 peace without cells sliding on each other, thanks. Can you suggest a charge rate and max. charge rate for those cells? P.S. I think it will not harm to add all new findings in the first post, like compression width, DCR and all relevan...

Re: My 38kw, 138v, 3.8kwh LTO Battery

What about fitting them horizontally in 4 lines? Printed studs could get to hot in worst case scenario, vicat temp of PETG (I used to print in) is ~80C, boards get over 90C (with heat sinking to terminal) hotter if free standing. What type of connectors will you use? Are there some bolts already you...

Re: bluetooth BMS?

Or just buy a half-decent starter battery that can actually start the car? Just saying.... My battery is always top notch, last time I needed to jump start my car, was ~5 years ago and not because of bad battery, but because someone wanted to listen music all day long, on the beach, with engine off...

Re: bluetooth BMS?

Isn't that a bit high for a typical car? 4S is 16.8 volts I only use 4S to jump-start the car, so I do not have to wait at all. When using 3S, you need to wait for a minute to raise starter battery voltage and have some useful energy on starter battery side, with 4S it is start able right in the in...

Really? I bought a box of Tenergy LiFePO 32650 5.5Ah 80x for 150USD (really around 5AH after testing), it is ~117USD/KW

Those are actively bleeding when LED is on, I have no idea what they do when damaged, but it is interesting to know. What I did is just replacing units that did not glow up with >2.8V and they where cold, so no bleeding. Be careful, I have no way to develop statics, tile floor, glass tables, no sock...

Re: DIY assembly kit for 18650 without spot welding/Soldering

Must say V2 kit is overall higher quality and consistency than V1, good job. Bus-bars: 0.5x8mm nickel coated copper, 4mm2. Contact spring: Contact neck is 0.75x6mm nickel coated copper, 4.5mm2. There is kind of stopper plate on the back side of the contact which is copper to and you will loose some ...

Re: bluetooth BMS?

You need to set up a accessories battery and a separate starterr battery. That way you can always start even if you drained the acc battery complelty. Looks like difficult, common ground is negative and screwed on the chassis all over the place, I must isolate all starter related electronics to the...

I was fortunate to get several kits 2 weeks ago, being Urvakhsha a kind guy to offer them for testing, only got some relevant charger last week, Turnigy Reaktor 1000w 30A. I do not see a way to overpower, by metrics, present copper cross section area with available 30A but I hope I have enough serve...

Re: bluetooth BMS?

you dont want a bms on a starter battery. Not really, I would just do the rest of electronics but in our paradigm everything including starter is tied to ground in a car and BMS is interrupting negative. 4S..LOL...Uhhhh no...not likely, but there are balance boards that will do what you need. Balan...

Re: bluetooth BMS?

Is there any 4S BT BMS capable of 300A peak somewhere? The idea is to use it for LiFePO car starter battery and need to have adjustable LVC and common charge/discharge port.
Is there any mod to use 8-24S BMS for 4S?

Figure, plain copper strand would do, punched through middle to go around posts...would do better or nickel...
