Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners
Great to see the new owners coming onboard and getting their first tastes of ebike riding - now you know why we rave about our bikes :-) I've been hard at work in my off-road track lab to come up with a lighting system that I'd be happy to take onto a 24hr race or hard night ride, which is where I'v...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners
As much as I like the new lights option from Stealth, I wanted something more in keeping with the rest of the lines of the bike, so I've come up with a different light/mounting system as an alternative, relies on the use of a very solid COB light with internal battery, IP65 weatherproofing, mounted ...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners
OK, so Hyena(+boat anchor) + me = 2.5 entrants. I'm sure we can scrape up more interest than that, even if his bikes combined output represents >2 bikes on its own. There is already an open class, but you'll find yourself up against an R1 Ripperton in that. Good luck to you taking that on. See http:...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners
Here's one for the East Coast of Australia (NSW) owners..I'm canvassing the owner crowd to see who might be interested in taking part in a dedicated race format on GoKart track as part of an EV festival in 2014, FOR STEALTH BIKES, here in the Hunter region. I raced my demo Yellow Fighter this year, ...

Greyp eBikes
I noticed that the covers were finally taken off the Greyp last night in a London launch, see http://greyp-bikes.com Interesting set of electronics used for the rider display, consisting of: - biometric recognition/signature for a range of riders - dynamically calculated range algorithms Still seems...

Re: Ripperton down..we have a Ripperton down
The 1500 class racing was a lot of fun - I could happily have gone on to do another 5-10laps. Which might have made me a bit more competitive against UoN's ApriliaRS125, which had a farily tightly specced battery capacity to match the require range needed for 10 laps. A longer race would have worked...

Re: Ripperton down..we have a Ripperton down
Heh. As the rider of the Stealth I only had very brief glimpses of Danny as he bolted past me on my Stealth. Video response below will show you how much he left me lingering in his dust at the 1m40s mark. Nt9F03QmOXg But at least I didn't stack it ;-) I was hoping Danny might pass a little closer so...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners
I know some of you will like this. Others will look at it and ask what the hell a Fighter is doing racing on a GoKart track against EV'd Aprilia RS125 and R1 Ripperton Superbike. All I'm going to say is, yes, it was a HELLUVA LOT OF FUN.. Nt9F03QmOXg See the accompanying PR post at http://store.quie...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners
Seriously impressed by the extent of traction I had available with my Schwalbe Crazy Bobs on GoKart pavement in a local eBike race today. Blog post coming shortly, with sidewall scrub pics. Whilst placed 2nd, it was to a custom built Aprilia RS125 custom designed for exact race distance..now if only...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners
Had a ball this week taking my 2 demo Fighters out onto Cameron Park Raceway for the Hunter EV Prize practice day. A good chance to do a back to back comparison of different rubber choices across the two options of either Crazy Bobs or the standard Duro Razorbacks. Details are all in the blogpost at...

Let's just see if we can get that vid embedded here for the fun of all, been looking forward to seeing how Ronnie was going to go about showcasing it: TuwESVujaHg Nice to see that Ronnie is an equally time pressed guy with 4 kids, compared to my 3 - I can totally appreciate where he's coming from. Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners
Just to continue a theme of security/visibility, here's a useful innovation I just spotted this morning via Kickstarter, which I think has merit for this group. Cowhorn style bars with built in Indicators, built in lights, built in GPS tracking and proximity sensing. Nice piece of work. Worth consid...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners
For the dirtbike inclined amongst this crowd, Transmoto ( http://www.transmoto.com.au ) have just done a review of the 2013 Stealth Fighter. It's a good read, well received. In amongst some pretty well established brands, as you can imagine..was interesting to find myself almost sidetracked by their...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners
Interesting thread starting to build up over at VitalMTB in response to Ronnie Renners YouTube video, would be good if some unbiased owners (i.e. not me) had a read, maybe commented on what it's been like from your own experience/s..good chance to educate, constructively engage in trail sharing deba...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners
There was a question posed earlier about seating preferences also - I've opted to fit a Brooks B17 standard saddle. Bit pricey but they are the rolls royce of seats, superb comfort that just gets better and better. One of my customers was sold on it after trying out my Fighter, even in pouring rain....

@cowardly duck it's Mount Taylor, which was my backyard until recently ;-) but definitely a good spot to test the hillclimb capability of your bike. I've got pics of my Fighter up there as well, should try and see if we can join up for a ride when I'm back down there next in a couple of weeks. Not s...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners
Hyena, nice job on the video and heading into dirtbike playground, looks like the sort of stuff I used to love sliding around on a Husky WR360 and TE 510 - major need for body armour around those two bikes, I used to pull up bleeding from roost even WITH body armour. Just doesn't cover all the bits ...

I've been watching the comments rolling in on an article at https://theconversation.edu.au/electric-bikes-at-250-watts-the-view-has-opened-up-nicely-10465 and it got me motivated to start doing some comparison testing between an unpowered MTB, the Fighter at 200w (Australian Design Rule standard) an...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners
Whilst I'm here, thought I'd ask the question of whether anyone has come across a bike seat-post clamp that can also clamp to a bull-bar. I have in mind a nice simple work stand that's 80% bulbar, 20% clamp..mind you, it's clearly going to be limiting access to one side of the bike at a time. :-) P...
