Re: Solderless weldless 36V battery could do 200A

Here is another battery. This one is 20S7P vtc6 inside. Wired with 25A pcm with separate port for charging.

Re: Solderless weldless 36V battery could do 200A

All I see in the Daly results are multi-port boards, what we usually call BMS. I assumed you meant the per-cell modules, where each protects one cell? Could you link to the specific one you ordered? Besides the current, what led you to choose it, as opposed to the others available? And is there a p...

Re: bluetooth BMS?

Whenever not cycling, bring to storage SoC and isolate the cells from everything, including BMS. In any case check on them at least every few weeks, more frequently at first, then scale back as you see what self discharge actually is. Just forgetting about them is not an option, maybe not as bad as...

I have contactor which cuts off the battery and only bms stayed connected. Cells were from nkon.
I have checked all my modules. All at 0.02V :D

Re: bluetooth BMS?

It was 20S6P battery. I assumed all was good and left it for 3 months. It should not be the practice for the hardware to malfunction or bad design. You should not seitch off bms, its added complexity. You will forget to do it eventually. Further more there should be notes on such conditions but what...

If its an unfixable issue, they go to the bin or at least to last drawer for the time being. Its unacceptable.

Re: bluetooth BMS?

I have installed this BMS last year. Over the winter i left my battery unattended and this BMS drained it flat. Had brand new cells that went to the bin. Had no chance to go through all the posts but is this known issue? I have 2 of them, 15S and 20S. Balancing and charging was ok but parasitic drai...

Re: Solderless weldless 36V battery could do 200A

I tend to agree to disagree  The good thing about PCM's is that its blunt as a boot so not too much that could go wrong with the hardware. I had one running for 7 years balancing and charging cells. I have destroyed that pack on vacation when my 43.8V charger died and i took 54V with me and my ...

Re: Is PCM good enough to replace BMS?

I am sorry that I might have some misunderstandings on PCM. From the internet, I found that some PCM can have balancing function in addition to over charge and over discharge protection. Then what is the difference between PCM AND BMS? Could someone please tell me? This my own explanation so dont t...

Re: Solderless weldless 36V battery could do 200A

Is that like a subset of BMS functionality? Link? According to the crowd, its bms but majority of the stuff people use is pcm, protection circuit module. It does balancing at hard preset value, does over current, under discharge and suposedly overcharge. Some does single or 2 point temp protection....

Re: Kelly KLS-S 72v controller wiring

You can skip the contactor. A fuse is good enough. This is directly from Fany @ Kelly. You still want to use the big green resistor that came with the controller anytime you connect the battery to the controller. This will help to slowly fill the capacitors in the controller and also help reduce th...

I'd love to see this scaled up to 26xxx series cells since there are a few offering excellent wh/$ these days. Plus many less connections to make.
I wont have 26650. 21700 should be mid summer. Compatible with 20700 if you dont mind wasted space.

Re: Solderless weldless 36V battery could do 200A

What size do you think the 20s7p pack will be ? Good work. Single module is 22x74x142 (bolts caps, bus bar, add 10mm) You can arrange them in over 4 configurations so i cant give you the size. One after another, front to back will be 440x74x142mm. Split that in half and you have 220x148x142mm. Then...

Kelly KLS-S 72v controller wiring

I have this controller and wiring diagram shows contactor. Would it be ok to wire it without contactor or would it drain the battery? Those chickers ar bulky and i would rather not use it. OK, looks good, I guess that solid metal cell holder snaps into the colored plastic boxes?
Cell holder is petg plastic. That metal is tin plated copper and its fitted beforehand. To be more accurate, cell snaps into assembled holder.
