Re: velomobile suspension, advice needed. Build thread

What would be maximum didn't you can get through bike path gates ? I would like it as wide as I can. My KMX tadpole trike is 39" wide from front wheel to front wheel. There are some bike paths where I only have about 1-2" of clearance on each side of the bollards. I'd recommend going no wider than ...

Just ordered €242 worth.
Will be very useful for when I want to make some temporary packs and reconfigure later.
You can make permanent packs as well 😉 😀

Just had this email from a customer, thought i'd share: "Hey buddy. Thought id let you know that your battery holders are explosive safe. Put a battery in backwards a thermal runaway came so quick I barely had time to get it in the protection bag I use but after explosion almost no damage to the uni...

How does controller power distributes over voltage? Is it linear, say 14S would give 3.2kW nominal on 12F?

Better parallel then series your pack. This way your 14P group cells will be in balance to each other perfectly. You can split paralleled packs no problem, say 20 modules which would make 10s14p and then another same

Re: Longtail cargo bike project

That's good news! The last bike of mine that was stolen, was also recovered (but not the custom trailer that was stolen with it). It was away almost a year and a half. Eventually I rebuilt that bike into a capable e-bike for a friend of mine. I remember you are literate in bike mechanics. What woul...

I would suggest investing in something like meanwell hlg series led power supply for charging instead of those chinese chargers. I had 3 of them fail in time.

Re: Nucular Electronics owner's thread (setup infos, FW updates, links etc.)

Would be great to have clarification on this. What will work and what most likely damage components. If it boost boosts voltage, and no exactly matched dc source is needed, that would be so awesome. Its a mess having all these different chargers. Wander if i have 2 of these, one running 48v another ...

Asking for clarification. In the first post on the diagram it says psu or any dc source. I take it has to match pack voltage, not just any dc souce ?

If you need to use a cable-operated hand control to run a throttle, there are a number of "pot box" controls, for ATVs, motorcycles, cars, etc. Both hall and pot versions exist.
Yes, but they are like 50$. I dont want to pay 50$ for a pot.

I'm ditching the cheap, twitchy hall throttle that came with my Chinese electric scooter/moped in favor of a remote POT activate by a good-old, tried-and-true throttle cable. I've ordered one of these from AliExpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Electric-Motorcycle-Scooter-Accelerator-Unit-With...

Anyone done or seen diy 5k throttle? Looking to make one and need reference. Pots are cheap, throttles are not so i thought why not build one. I need it for lawn mower ehich has cable throttle. Re: MTD Novotrac conversion

Its difficult. So blade tip speed should be 210-230mph. Blade is 66cm or 26".As much as i could dig up blade pulley is 7" or 178mm
and motor pulley is 100mm OD., thats 1:1.78 reduction.
Need to calculate motor rpm from this

Re: New weldless battery system crowdfunfing project

Wait, why would AG's design be prone to corrosion? I mean, nickel-zinc/tin plated copper has excellent resistance to corrosion. As he mentioned, only the steel bolts have been corroded, and that could be fixed with a zinc, then nickel, plating. Thanks, exactly. Actually i address that with high qua...

Re: Low voltage systems

There's a few discussions about high vs low voltage systems that have all sorts of details, but basically it comes down to: the lower the voltage, the higher the currents have to be to get teh same power. 2000w / 24v = 83.3a so you'll need a battery and BMS (if any) that can handle that kind of cur...

Low voltage systems

So everyone is building and lowest system voltage 99% use is 36v minimum. I would like to use 24V controller for 2kw vehicle for speeds upto 30kmh with hub motor and chain reduction to differential. Any cons to that? I see only benefits like using tesla module without any modifications and electroni...

It clearly says "Start Voltage: 3900 mV", it'll only balance above that voltage. It STARTS, but it doesn't STOP if cell voltage falls BELOW that value. At least it seems it didn't do with my battery. Re: New weldless battery system crowdfunfing project

your packs are not friction fit wich is a plus compared to vruzend, but is also suseptible to corrosion, even worse then welding. and many people that fix or build batteries onyl see the busted ones, otherwise they would not go to a battery supplier. Yes, not friction, compression. Regarding corros...
