weak shipping packages & transit damages were reported since the first bikes deliveries on this thread...

@frey, use stronger carboard boxes !
Maybe add a spacer between the dropouts too, if there isn't one used already.

I wonder if that was done in shipping or if Customs tore into it, who was the carrier that delivered it?

The Frey HT1000 - And yes, HT stands for Hardtail! *updated*

It's coming! After some time well spent pestering poor Ivy at Frey, they've given in and the OK has been given to announce the upcoming Frey HT1000! So far the only two details known are that this bike will feature the Bafang G510 mid mount motor, and a selection of top shelf components. You can pro...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

The charger plug looks like a 3 pin Mini-DIN, but without the square center post. Do they come without that post? Can you rid yourself of it's not DIN. The closest match I have found is GX-16 3-pins. However, the stock cable is Reention-branded (the mfg. of the battery case), and It looks like the ...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

Any reason you prefer the hardtail? Having moved from a hardtail to the Frey FS ebike I'll never go back. The ride is so much more comfortable. The loss of efficiency in peddling is easily made up for by the motor. It's all about the rear rack. If I can noodle a solid rack that doesn't just clamp o...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

I'm thinking of a sleeve that fits into the seat tube like a dropper would, but with a section that extends down the back of the seat tube to a clamp right below the top tube where it meets the seat tube. That give give me a nice solid mount that I can build off of. Without welding on the bike.

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

Now, how about that hardtail AM1000? 8) Yes!! I`m patiently waiting on the road/hardtail version! I really want a hardtail version too, I'm caving in though. Ivy and I are working out the details of an order right now. I figure that I can always order a frame when they are ready and swap everything...

For one party the exchange goes on as normal only it's the hacker they are now dealing with, while the second party thinks that the first has simply not ...

Re: Found! A 6160 hardtail frame for the Bafang G510

I ran into the same thing, they'll sell and ship a frame, but for a complete bike they have a MOQ of 20. That is not how the product listing reads though, they state that MOQ for a full bike or frame is one. Also, not that this is a red flag on it's own, but it has been two days since I posed a few ...

Re: Found! A 6160 hardtail frame for the Bafang G510

For being thru axle design, they look plenty beefy. Re the hanger, replaceable is nice, but so many times the company has moved on to different designs that unless you order three or four spare ones, you can never find the right shape one a couple of years down the line when you need it. Sufficient...

Found! A 6160 hardtail frame for the Bafang G510

Jackpot! I think. :D I've been itching for a Frey, but I really wanted a hardtail. . . back to square one. It mounts the G510 drive unit, and uses the Reention Dorado battery case. It's a 27.5", but I don't know if it uses Boost Spacing, here's hoping. It lists at a decent price, but shipping, duty,...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

Hi All, I have been riding my am1000 for about 400km now over the past two months loving and hating it. In the meantime, I've had my share of problems as well. All in all I love the bike, but so far this has happened chronologically: 1) gear sensor was not installed as requested - one was send to m...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

my 2 cts: commuting at ebike speeds on an hardtail can be done but potholes and rough roads are more than a discomfort. suspension seatposts and wide, low pressure tires do help but when you roll over a bad pothole at 40+ kph you understand why all other 2-wheel motor vehicles have rear suspensions...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

My interest is largely in a commuter bike, it was the G510 and price which led me to the Frey. Meaning, I don't really need a FS bike, but the Frey is good value, so it stays on my short list for now.

My question: Does Frey have any intention of releasing a hardtail MTB that uses the G510?

Re: Virtual Build Project - Yuba Mundo Urban Transporter Sys

Looking back, some of my comments may have sounded disparaging, and I want to restate that the Yuba Mundo is a great product. It is a good basic design, and their recent changes show that the company is sensitive to customer desires. The Stokemonkey is also a good product, but the open space in the...

Interesting, I wonder how well they work. It seems like Kiwi's design offers a longer lever and potentially a firmer hold on the axle.

I was just counting the spokes on your rear wheel, it looks like you are using 36, are you still planning on adapting your hub to use a 48 spoke wheel for your next build? For this build I just switched my back wheel from my other bike. I'm still contemplating the 36-48 adapter. Or a mid-drive. I'm...

Re: Securing Theft and Vandal Proofing ebike ideas?

Interesting find, does the pay per page plan have any type of a charge applied to keep the account active? Or is it strictly pay for what you use and no more? I love the idea of tracking as locks are not 100% effective against a crook.
