Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Here's one I shot this afternoon...I know I need to get more creative with the camera angles and find some big jumps around here

I've had mine for a while ready to deploy when all my parts finally arrive. I'm going to use this as a dedicated display, no sim card required

Sounds like you've been commissioned. Can't wait to see what you come up with. Any hints on your intended setup? Loads of lithium no doubt.

Re: Optibike mid drive

Also i was believing web hype...i believed the 32mph on the opti website...in fact my bike went 22mph without pedaling...and with pedaling hard i may be able to get it to 26mph....pedaling hard!!! Well you must need some sprint work or something :D Maximum speed on flats was at least 35 mph on my O...

I have the rather ingenious experimental remote, now discontinued I believe. It limits amps with no overshoot at full throttle.

Re: Final word on your battery?

From this posting ... My cycle analyst only shows about 0.9 Kw of used energy when the battery cuts out. I was told the missing 0.6 Kw are lost as heat. I find that rather strange, but that´s the way it is. The good thing is that the 80 Km/h top speed is really achieavable. But maybe the high spee...

Re: Optibike mid drive

Ok Kepler, Then if you think you cant squeeze enough power out of a 16lb crystallite by overvolting it air cooling it etc., , then buy the 5304 for cheap and live with the 23 lbs of lead weight in your rear wheel... What is your point that you cant get close to stealth performance with the new crys...

Something to consider if you have somewhere you can hide it. This one is only for Australia but I assume there are similar devices available elsewhere.

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Hi, Kepler, thanks for the reply. I get your point and yes 25% better power to weight ratio does look like quite a big difference, I imagine the range of gears on the bomber allows the rider to deploy pedal power more of the time too. I would not use either as commuter but would do road and track, ...

Re: Pikes Peak Race--Entering?

Some quick facts on this race, i did talk to the organizer: No rules or regulations on battery packs, wattage, motors, etc. This year the ebikers will start 10 minutes early from the rest of the pack.....this is because of complaints from roadbikers that certain racers were drafting behind the opti...

Re: Pikes Peak Race--Entering?

Hillhater, My guess this would be considered uncool...like an ethical infringement....although there is no specific rule against it. To do it you would have to have someone along the route to carry your battery for you...although there is no rule against this if someone saw it they might complain.....

Re: Pikes Peak Race--Entering?

What i do find mildly amusing about this entire thread is Opti owners only want a frock erm "hub" motor in the race against them, yet haha the Opti is a mid drive using gears. It would be funnier if it were true. I can't speak for all Optibike owners, but those of us who participate in the Google g...

Re: Which bike would make a good E-bomber (similar to Stealt

I heard a rumour that stealth made their new bomber with some kind of cooling system...air or water..is it true or is it just stock crystallite? Your rumours do keep us busy Eric. I have a late model Bomber and the only ccol is the bike...no cooling. Don't really see why you'd need it unless you we...

Re: Pikes Peak Race--Entering?

Anyone have an altitude profile of the run. I'd like to see at what altitude are the steepest grades. What about the road surface and curves? I've been assuming the curves can be taken at 30mph to avoid repeated accelerations. Slowing down for curves would have a huge effect on proper planning. The...

Re: Well Knoxie Got his Gopro!

Great, entertaining commentary knoxie, nice fast ride and I definitely like the wide field of view of the Gopro. I've got a helmet mounted Contour 1080 but the Gopro looks better with that wide angle and it has a chest mount which I think might be best for rough & shaky off-road vids.

Re: Pikes Peak Race--Entering?

This is a real factor for internal combustion airplanes...i am not sure at all how altitude effects electric motor cooling...but air is thinner up high. High altitude limits motor heat dissipation - the cooling properties of air are much less effective due to lower air density however density altit...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

G'day full-throttle...Afghan's are Like Great Danes, usually big, goofy puppy dogs. It's the Rottweiller / Doberman / Pitbull mix you gotta watch out for...they're very quick, though still no match for the Bomber. Are your white frames a result, attempting to convert formats? Re: Pikes Peak Race--Entering?

The Assault on the Peak is a timed fun ride to the summit, open to all cyclists. The way I read it - anything with pedals. The challenge is making it to the top past the finish line. So while competitors all start at the same time, the high powered hubs & RC's will break away from the lower powered ...
