question about CA's "fun" limiter

So I've recently got bitten by the eBike bug, first I had a 500W 36V on the front of a rubbish hardtail, now I'm running a 750W 36V rear motor on a shiny new Specialized hardrock disc. Problem is, it's just too much fun! well by fun, I mean fast. I'm aware there is a 15mph limit here in the UK and I...

Re: Finally my bike and torque plates

That looks really nicely done, what battery have you squeezed into the frame there? I've got mine over the back wheel but I'm not a fan of the balancing so would like to do the same as yourself, did you have a custom pack made?

troubleshooting a new rear motor

Just replaced a 500W front motor with a 750W rear with disc brake. What a difference! This thing is fast, and with the battery over the back axle, wheelying is scarily easy. Have a few concerns I'd like to run past people and get a bit of advice on if anyone can spare a moment. First off, the disc b...

Possible meter solution?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/36V-GOLF-CART-LED-STATE-CHARGE-METER-CLUB-CAR-EZ-GO-/110571911680?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_100&hash=item19be997a00#ht_1026wt_907 designed for a golf cart so I'm guessing designed for SLA type batteries, reckon this would be compatible with a Lipo4 pack? Or like the 3 lights on the t...

Re: n00b on the loose - no idea what I'm doing really!

Looks like I'll get one of those then! Thanks for that, really helpful, I'm a bit confused about these LiPo batteries, I'm used to NiMh and NiCad packs of olden days, what do you mean by "balancing" does that replace my BMS? Also, is the meter you recommend pretty weather proof I.E can it be mounted...

Could I hook a few of these directly into the batteries discharge wires alongside the controller with a suitable inline switch?

Re: n00b on the loose - no idea what I'm doing really!

Thanks for all the help. I thought I might have problems running two motors as it would pull too much from the battery. I've got a 30amp fuse in line from the battery and I've blown it once going up a hill. I just looked up prices and the CA is £150 in the UK and the Watts Up is £30. Is the CA rea...

n00b on the loose - no idea what I'm doing really!

Started with the whole eBike thing at the start of the year I was commuting 4 miles into work everyday with a big hill at the end that was just a bit much, public transport is expensive and driving means an hour in traffic. eBike turns out to be best value ever as I now make it into work in 20 minut...
