Damn now I feel like a complete fool  . I remember reading that! Are the bms boards still getting hot when they are balancing? I believe as you cycle the cells in, they should be getting more and more in sync with each other. The bms boards shouldn't be doing much balancing after the first thr...

Re: Torque Raptor ebike + frame kit
I think you guys are crazy not uwing regular lipo. It is very safe and gives you so many more options. Especially if you are thinking about a frame like this. Maybe i do not understand something. Why are you not using lipo? Let's not compare the safety of LiPo and LiFePo4. No, let's  . It ...

Why don't you put the controller in the triangle? You spent enough money on it, mine as well keep it safer from the elements. Keyword: safer lol

Re: HS3540 BOSS BUILD. Now H4065 Boss Build
LoL trackman so much anticipation for 47mph, and then SPLAT !...... why you got the 4065 instead of 4080 if you wanted 47mph to keep with the traffic ? If you look at 65kph and convert it to mph you find it is right around 40mph :P . Now, I know that the naming convention is skewed by a couple km/h...

OK. Back on track. I'm sizing up one of these for a mid-mount (davinci 3220) but holding back till some peer review has come through. Thinking of running it through the gears. Get rid of the controller guard and get some mounting system fabricated. Quick photochop of idea here photochop raptor.jpg ...

Re: HS3540 BOSS BUILD. Now H4065 Boss Build
100 volts and 42MPH, I would have to say that the 4065 has the exact same stator wind turn count as the 5405 then and the 5403 would be the same as the 4080. That's makes sense. Rick Could be. I kind of miss being able to go 40mph without running 100volts. Idk but I just don't like it. Running 100v...

Re: What throttle? Thumb or twist?
Half twist. It works like a motorbike, and you won't have any problem keeping your hand in position for the brakes while using it. Plus you'll have a more solid grip on the bars than with a full twist. I've found my thumb wants to fall asleep after an hour or so on a thumb throttle. +1 with the thu...

looks like my top speed was good. Hyena was also using %120 timing on the motor. Our unloaded speeds where just about the same. I am not complaining. I am happy that I can keep up with traffic now and stay in the middle of the road.

Hyena, I ran my H4065 at close to 100v but was only getting a top speed of 100 mph. my unloaded top speed was 51 or so mph. If it was not too much trouble could you check out your unloaded top speed, at 100v? I really wanted to see what land speed records I would break with this motor, but apparentl...

Re: mx500 dirt bike with x5404
Your worried about braking at 25-30mph? Aren't the disc brakes that come with the mX-500 somewhat good? I mean they look 10X beefier than bike brakes. Ehh why am I expecting so much from an almost Walmart quality bike? :P Swapping controllers is definately something I will dread when I think about b...

Re: HS3540 BOSS BUILD. Now H4065 Boss Build
Exactly! Whats not to love. I think running 24s at 40 amps would be a great and reliable combo for your 4065 and 26 inch rims. Because of your light weight and the light weight of your machine, 4000Watts will run like a bat outof hell and not be over volting/current things much at all. Hyena was se...

Hot damn man. That is not what I was expecting at all. I was thinking atleast low-mid 30's or so with 20s. I guess I better sell my x5404 scooter hub then, I don't want to lay down the extra money just for 4115 fets . Not when I am saving up for going away to college. Hehe, though you said the ...

Re: What technologies need advancement for eBikes?
Better battery's are a must. I just started to see an influx in BMS' that seem to do really well. They also meet a variety of different price levels depending on the features you want. Who has enough space on their bikes to store enough battery's to go 50miles without restricting speed and riding li...

I got about 800 miles out of my crappy stick tires that came with my bike. I got better tires and it seems that they will be lasting about 1000.

I think you guys are forgetting that the 5404 is in a 20" scooter rim. I don't think it will be drawing too many Amps compared to a 26" bicycle rim.
