Re: Hyena's e-bike builds (now with HD video)

My bike is in pieces but I'll try and remember next time I'm in the workshop. If you're losing speed then that's another issue irrespective of what I'm doing. No need to check anymore, I found the problem. Thanks for the offer. Turns out, the maxV pot in my throttle tamer needed some adjusting. Don...

Re: Another Giant DH Team build but this time Clyte 4065 on

Nevermind man. Thanks for everything though! I got Zombiess' throttle tamer and it seems the maxV pot got turned the other way or something limiting the throttle input into the controller. All is well now :D Sorry, my iPhone isn't the greatest for typing on the forum  You thinking about pullin...

Re: Another Giant DH Team build but this time Clyte 4065 on

Order a bulk chArger through Ian.mich. He said he uses the same manufacturer that High power cycles uses for their bulk chargers. Mine is working flawlessly. Hope this helps. :D If it isn't too much trouble, could you find out your rom/volt on the 4065? I may have demagnetized mine a teeny tiny bit ...

Re: HS3540 BOSS BUILD. Now H4065 Boss Build

hmmmm. Seems as though something may be wrong with my motor or the pots in the throttle tamer or turning rather slowly. On my commute home tonight, I experienced a lower then usual top speed which is now just about 33mph on flat road, instead of 35 mph. Climbing hills, now brings my top speed to abo...

Re: Hyena's e-bike builds (now with HD video)

Hey man,
Can you calculate your rpm/volt for your 4065? Or at the very least your kph at a given figure with the circumference of your wheel?
My trip home tonight yielded a lower than usual top speed on flat (33mph) and even lower usual speed going up hills.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Stealth fighter with sine wave controller and cromotor

If you don't like the vibrations, I would consider putting rubber washers in between the straps and the frame. That will help with keeping the paint from scratching and it should help prevent some vibrations.

It says they swapped all their controllers with them. I would shoot them an email to be positive.

Sounds amazing... will have to check this out. I guess it's only a matter of time before we get some "clones" :? EDIT: Got a link? I can't find that part on their site The link is here: http://ebikes.ca/store/store_controllers.php They are the same price as the original ones. Win

Re: 4065 or 4080

The H4065 will not get yo to 50mph on 100volts. Check out my build thread :P . If you have a %120 throttle setting on your throttle, it will get you up to around 47-48 mph. I believe the 4080 will suit you because you want the higher top end, and I will admit, I wish I got the 4080 as well, I almost...

Look at the motorcycle community. I don't know a single guy who has been riding motorcycles for over 10 years who *hasn't* crashed and received a permanent injury of some kind. Bullshit! I have been riding motorcyles for 40 years. Yes I have crashed, but I have no permanent injury. The same with do...

I have always thought about carrying around my bulk charger but thought all the rattling would drive something loose. Guess this is not the case, since you ride your bike 10X more aggressively than ever would  .

How are you going to have the motor rewound? You going to try and keep the winding the same?

did anyone else have the symptom where at any rpm if you accelerate a little bit, you get a "kick in the butt" kind of feeling? Did anyone try the tamer and see if it helped with this issue? It got rid of my problems of the kick in the butt feeling. No matter where you are in the throttle...

Re: Water-resistant fast-release connectors

To make any connector water resistant, I would add di-electric grease to all of your connectors.
I have rode on wet pavement many times, where the water drenches the connectors on my controller. But the grease keeps the water out, when applied generously  .

Re: Crystalyte X5 5303

The H4080 would be pretty rough on controllers as well. That's what you pay for with motors wound for speed. They need more amps to maintain a certain speed. I remember hyena posting that he would not run anything less than a 18fet on these motors. If you really want speed and already have a 12 fet,...

Your bike looks awesome Korpin! thanks I lost a couple miles per hour with smaller tires got up to I think 48 mph with pedaling but it will not go over 30 amps for some reason 48mph sounds pretty good to me. How much faster did you want to go in the 4065? You wouldn't happen to know if your control...

It depends what you are going to do with the motors. Ie power output.
I would personally go with the H4080 just because of how lite the thing is. I really do like these motors for their weight and power handling.
