Re: Scorpion 26 fs a new build
That is a nice trike you got there. I was planning a Scorpion FS 20 instead of the 26 just so I can have a 20 inch rim and run higher rpm motor and get higher efficiency when accelerating/climbing hills. If you want the best cells, I would go with tesla's cells if you can afford it. Super light and ...

Re: Recumbent Bike/Trike Touring experience?
You are going to be at the weight of two people on a bike and a good bit of bulky gear, why not go with a tandem bent in the first place? For one thing a longer bike has less need of suspension and is more stable at speed, I ride a long wheelbase e-bent without suspension but with Big Apple balloon...

Re: Recumbent Bike/Trike Touring experience?
Hi mvly, in the season 2014 I drove a looklike setup like you plan for your 200 miles ride a day. I use a HPvelotechnik and a Stein-WO Trike. Attached you will find some pics from the Trikes. Whitch Trike models will do you use for your trip? For this, HP and Stein I can give you a lot of tips for ...

Get ready to Grind. For sure the guy to talk to is Grindz. No doubt you did see this http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=61893 IMO, the big thing he learned on his trip was to not push so hard for miles per day, allow more time for a trip that long. Watching all his you tube vi...

Recumbent Bike/Trike Touring experience?
I am contemplating a new build. This time for a touring bike/trike. I was wondering if there are any others who have went down this path and would like to offer their wisdom on this matter. First off the requirements: 1) 200 miles per day 2) 8 hours max riding time per day 3) 25mph average per day m...

Re: Critique this performance velomobile idea
Not sure if you know but here is a great velomobile to start with. It has full suspenaion because it is based off of the mungo stientrike which is full suspension. http://www.veloverde.net/recumbent-cycles/recumbent-trikes/velomobiles/interceptor-velomobiles-from-steintrike-special-order.html I was ...

I think super scooter sales is your best bet. Sure it is quite expensive, but in the end it is better than building one if you hate building and maintaining. The skateboard build can also be expensive and the etow doesnt see to fit your needs of 30mph. The 1500W can comfortably get you up to 35mph. ...

Re: electric stand up/sit down scooter or gas scooter?
The 1500W version should fit your needs. They arent cheap but a blast to ride. http://www.superscootersales.com I am not sure about the legality of these because they are fast. Way faster than 20mph federal limit. As for maintence, anything going fast and mechanical will need servicing eventually. Y...

Wow much easier to dismantle like the video i did on the the 1830 on youtube. If the price is right, i can mean really cheap high capacity battery.

Re: Battery Lifetime Energy Throughput
This is an interesting topic you brought up. I am sure you are not the first to think about it. In practice, I think it would matter little if a battery cell can provide some capacity after some time period with some number of cycle count. Let's take some example to illustrate in detail: 1) DIY ebik...

Re: Vector. New 10 kW ebike from scratch.
Hello guys, Just to share the awesome space of the vector frame. Inside are 22s 40Ah of lipo and a max-e controller DSC05419.JPG I just need one set of spacers for the side covers: DSC05420.JPG This is proof of concept, but I would like your opinions about leaving the controller inside. I'm not sur...

Re: Cell cycling device - any interest?
Hi, my friend and I are working on device that can cycle cell and write down capacity for each cycle. It does everything automatically, it charges and discharges, and you can set voltage cutoffs, and currents for charging and discharging, and also rest time between cycles. We have a working prototy...

Re: Vector. New 5.4 kW ebike from scratch.
I have been out of this thread for a while. Is the wider frame still in plan or do we need the 2 spacers to enhance rhe width of the frame? I might be able to make 145mm frame for you... with 1 set of spacers it will be 161) Are you going to use nissan batteries? Yeah i am going to use the nissian ...

Re: ultra light,40 mph w/fairing,93+mi range,bicycle
I say just get the zero motorcycle at this point. It is production. It is proven so potentially it will last longer. Also it is probably a lot cheaper than what you are going to build. The only downside is you have to register it. And have a license to operate a motorcycle here in the states. Everyt...

Re: Vector. New 5.4 kW ebike from scratch.
Wow nice. But i will be needing both the wider frame and the spacer! Hahah. Great looking forward to the wider frame! One more question. Will this frame be suitable for shorter riders? On a normal bike i usually go with a 50cm or less. On this bike i would think less because i would like to stay on ...

Re: Vector. New 5.4 kW ebike from scratch.
Not to be selfish here, but arter have we agreed on the 150mm? Can you look into the 175mm? It would make my migration a lot easier if it was 175mm. If it is 150mm, i might have to reconsider and think about it. You would be able to use two 1 cm adapters from bouth sides to get 17.5cm. Great! Im st...

Re: Vector. New 5.4 kW ebike from scratch.
Just did some measurements and it looks like i would need at least 175mm to fit all my 24s LEAF batteries. If i got with 20s then i think a 150mm frame would do. As of now a 125mm frame will not do.

I like it for my regular bike. But for an ebike, pass. That twist lock will be destroyed after a few bumps at 40mph.

Re: Vector. New 5.4 kW ebike from scratch.
@striker I think we are at least 3 that will take the new wider frame, counting merlin as well. @Merlin you where thinking something like this? To utilize the some of the space in front of the BB? That could add 4 more bricks of lipo. If I remember correct the 15 cm wide frame holds 32s for 134v, m...
