Re: couldn't pass her-18 mph in spandex

Now Lock thanks to you I went from looking forward to a warm moist dream to a dry, bloody nighmare! :D That was great, I couldn't stop laughing. Looking back, I realize that Dogman never warned us newbies about pings being for wimps, and Lipo being for real men! ok, I payed my dues. But at least it ...

couldn't pass her-18 mph in spandex

Yup, she was fully decked out with the wrap around sunglasses, the usual road racing colors and I clocked her at 18 mph on the flat! When I tried to pass her -just barely-I ran into a wind gust and my 36 v, 15 ah ping just couldn't cut it. She laughed and pulled away! She had muscular legs on her th...

Re: How Many in the USA REALLY commute by bicycle?

I agree with Solcar. And it begs the related question to our community-how many of us use our electric bikes for our everyrday errands such as shopping, laundry, school and work rain or shine-everyday? With a rear rack and folding baskets, there are very few errands I can't do...execpt maybe Home De...

I agree with the community college/on-line options to get your feet wet. And don't forget-student loans follow you to the grave. You can be a 70 year old cripple-they still want their money. And bankruptcy doesn't clear it!

All the best.

Re: Solar Charging My 36V 14 Amp Hr Polly Battery Pack

Check out these sites. They get into solar charging an e-bike and go into details about different panels. http://www.cisolar.com/catSolarebike.html
Also there is an Australian company called Solarbike (solarbike.com.au) which has done alot of research on this very subject. Keep us posted.

Re: Tell me about Yescomusa kits

Yescomusa has been very good at quick shipping and customer service. However, bear in mind that they are resellars like most on e-bay. They buy the kits already assembled and packaged-they merely ship them on to the customer in the original Chinese packaging. Be prepared for out of round rims, cheap...

Re: North American mega-regions

Well I live in Vermont which is economically challenged but has rivers, lakes, mountains, picturesque small towns, and a thriving farmers market/local agriculture movement. Our only real city, Burlington, is a college town with the University of Vermont which is right on lake Champlain and a couple ...

Re: yescomusa.com 48V 1000W rear motor kit

I tried to return a 36 v rear kit to them recently 'cause the rim was way out of 'round and the spokes were bent. They didn't want it back instead asked for photos showing the condition. Upon receiving this from me they offered to refund $180 out of my $238 original purchase. Its either that or spen...

Re: Ryobi One+ Electric Bike Build

I wish you well on your build and we all have been enjoying the progress. I for one hope that with all these battery packs you haven't overburdened your bike and thus reduced it as a second daily vehicle. Do you want to haul groceries, carry stuff, etc or is it simply personal transport from A to B?

Re: yescomusa.com (GM) 48V 1000W rear motor kit

Being on my second Golden Motor e-bay kit I tend to agree with you. It certainly got me started on e-bikes and got me the e-bike grin. However when i was installing my most recent one while trueing up the wheel in the frame-and moving it forward and backward while aligning it in the dropouts- the wh...

The reason I say that hopefully is that I have a cheap Kent double suspension aluminum frame with steel suspension forks and steel dropouts in the rear. I was hoping for a similiar set up only better quality.

Re: first build: suspension or hardtail

I agree with whats been said. I am also new and have already bent spokes and the rim on my first e-bay 36 volt 20 mph kit ( steel rigid fork comfort crusier). So for my next build I am shopping bikes. Recent reports of suspension forks breaking and not being up to the task are alarming. But being in...

Re: Ebay Kit DIY 36V rear drive 15a/hr LifePo4

Nice write-up. I was wondering now that several months have gone by, how has your kit held up? Any issues? I bought a similar e-bay kit around the same time-36 v, 500 watt front. I wish I knew then what i know now thanks to this forum. Should have bought the 48 volt version for the same price and sh...

Looks good. How can we check the specs to see if this is the real deal and not another Chinese relabeling as they have done with the 500-1000 watt units?
