From Rod's Raptor 140 Build...
The plan was to use components from a previous build. This shock is one example of parts from a previous build. Well that's what I told my wife until she looked under the spare bed.

Re: MXUS 3000 - Cromotor Mini

After being disappointed with the rapid wear on standard bicycle tires (Maxxis Hookworm) I wanted to lace this in a 19" moped rim but decided against it considering the reduced diameter would likely mean my tire would chafe against the narrower area. http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Molybde...

but again, my point is that Total should not be the ones running a solar panel company. it is a misuse of corporate resources which should be focused on the business that they are set up to do. that is oil and gas exploration and production. Pure, utter nonsense. :!: Large corporations are into all...

Re: One of those annoying hard to trace intermittent problem

I just got a new 18fet from Lyen and it does the same thing. Shudders and vibrates up to 2/3 throttle and then it smooths out.

But, it runs very smoothly with no shuddering at all when run with the wheel off the ground.

I just sent it back.

For those who decide to wait for v2, a reminder: And just to be clear, we are not waiting for the second version, because there is no definite timeline for when the second version will be available for purchase. Re: Who else is in the 5,000 miles or more in a year club?

It would be interesting if your respondents have used only one motor. Some folks put on alot of miles spread over several motors or bikes.

Also if they posted which motor they used.

That's the real deal.

Re: 19" Motorcycle Wheels vs 26" Bicycle Wheels (rim and tir

The 18x1.4 black US Racing Boy rim is lighter than my 17x1.4 prowheel racing rim, . Do you think 18" M/B rims are probably still the way to go if using fat hub motors? Here's a pic of another 22" rim (completely different manufacturer) with a 2.25 scooter tyre, showing bead fitment. This set up is ...

Re: MXUS + 18fet controller, A123 26650 on a TBD

Preface I got derailed from my Ross Mt Whitney MTB, MAC 8T, OSN A123 72V build for several reasons: Paul at EM3ev would not warranty the setup as too many amps for the motor I'm uncompromising on my need for speed per expected usage the MXUS buy came along with a motor that I believe more suitable ...

Re: 19" Motorcycle Wheels vs 26" Bicycle Wheels (rim and tir

At 95 volts, an 18" x 2.5 will see almost 50 mph and will still give me my target 38 mph cruise speed on my 2 lane, 40 mph country roads. But by what JRH just said, it sounds like aluminum motorcycle wheels like the Prowheel 36 hole are almost too much hassle to mount a hub motor properly to. Certa...

Re: 19" Motorcycle Wheels vs 26" Bicycle Wheels (rim and tir

The last build that JRH did for me was a 1.4 -19 steel moped wheel with 12 g spokes into my HS3540 which has held up well. My only problem has been due to frame clearance, I couldn't run the 2.75 Shinko like everyone else and had to settle for a 2.5" x 19 no-name off Treatland. When I was doing my t...

Re: 19" Motorcycle Wheels vs 26" Bicycle Wheels (rim and tir

Pretty much today I'm accepting wheel builds. Just finishing a small motor contract and I'll have some freed time. Good news. So John, with this group buy forming, there may be several who would want builds from you for the Mxus motor. I know you have the 19" moped rims coming, but will you be able...

Re: Moped Rims and Wheels, 36 hole, 16" 17" 18" 19"

I have been researching Moped or Sport Bike Tires for the MC Rims, and haven't found anything that would seem to fit my needs- Primarily the following: Outside Diameter 26" +/- 1/2" Width = 3" +/- 1/4" Options here are close, but still a little Large or small for my preferences. Re: EUropean Group Buy for MXUS 3000W Hub Motor ~187€ + Ship

So the motor would come unlaced, right? Did someone check with the manufacturer if they'd offer laced motor+rim sets. That should be cheaper than having someone else lace it for you (costs around €100 for the service alone). They also offer laced. But not all want a 26" rim. I know the laced Clyte ...

Gosh you folks are almost at 20! :D

Don't forget, they ship two motors to a box and will not pack one motor to a box.

So your distribution to individual buyers is going to require re-boxing and then shipping to each.

She's given you the 1kw motor report there, check the date. It's the 28mm stator with 0.5mm lams. They sent the same to me and were up front saying it was the best they had - haven't tested the new one yet due to interbike. But apologised and said soon. Not too long until I test my own! Re: Moped Rims and Wheels, 36 hole, 16" 17" 18" 19"

19" rims just landed! These are made in two types, "rear" style for large diameter hub motors like Cromotors and "Front" style for bicycle hubs and small diameter hubmotors like bafang. For example, if you are building a hub motored bike you will most likely choose one rear and one front. If you ar...

Thanks for the offer. I think moving forward, we should focus on this west coast port idea and forget mid-country drops with extra shipping.

So how difficult is it in your neck of the woods to get your bike licensed as a moped? Seems that someone on the forum has done it and it was a hassle.
