Re: rode over my lipo battery at wot

Motor is defo not a cromotor, it's basically smaller width than a magic pie but I bought it from Devi comfort in the Netherlands laced originally in a 700c wheel, I unlaced it cut the spokes down rerolled them and had a bike mechanic in prestwich who lent me use of the spoke roller lace it back into...

Re: rode over my lipo battery at wot

yeah I know drafting a barndoor of a cyclist is cheating but just wish there wish more of them about, set a decent pace, police less likely to pick on me if i'm behind a unassisted machine going quickly. plan to never have my lipo run over me but one day it might try and get its own back.

almost shat myself. basically I have just nearly finished my 3rd ebike. a norco dh team race. see pic norco muddy.jpg you may see from the photo that there is a pvc rectangular duct which is my 72v 18s2p 40c zippy flight max battery. you may also notice the only thing holding it to the frame is litt...

Re: beer cooled motor

I gotta say that's a ridiculous idea, who likes warm beer? plus if you get stopped by the police on a bike which requires water cooling since its overvolted and is already illegal the last thing you need is to be smelling like a brewery. Just a waste of beer. beer cooled biker is what you need.

Re: Modifying Norco frame.. need advice

iovay, thats impressive, i'm surprised and worried about how much weaker taking that second panel out has made the frame? my norco's do, have as much internal space as this so id have to resort to long packs , not sure im going to bother till i get one of a very similar style or make my own. regards...

Re: How many uk people up for a race meet

All up for the idea of a UK race meet but not sure I can do London. you would probs need about 10 to 20 people to make that a reasonable cost of day. there was talk of a meet further north which had offroad cycle track riding. sounds a) cheaper b) more suited to our bikes. Anyways take some pic when...

Re: Modifying Norco frame.. need advice

Ill be impressed if you do. 18x2x4 = 144 16x2x5 = 160 basically from my very rough calculations iovay you want to put more lipo inside the frame than i have hanging off the bottom, all i can think is good luck on that. Ill be interested if it works. also having it secure is going to be another issue...

Re: Modifying Norco frame.. need advice

norco muddy.jpg Love the Idea iovay. I have two norcos this one above a dh team circa 2002 vintage and a norco savage which i intend to put my 80100 with burties optical board onto. I dont like the idea of cutting these frames but i see the merit in the idea of making the bike look as normal as pos...

norco battery case 18s2p.jpg here is a 18s 2p battery with balance taps top and bottom. It gets charged as two subpacks on a 1420i hyperion and 2 hp server supplies. I also have a 73v bulk charger but no battery balancers only bvm8 to check the voltages. Subpacks are 9s2p so only really expensive b...

Re: My series parralel changer

Tench, A massive fan of the skills. Love the simplicity of this idea and like that it can be made more or less parallel. I do my 18s2p pack in to 9s2p halves but I went the route of a hyperion 1420i (i wanted the chance later on to buy some 4s packs so supplement my 3s subpacks to get a 14s/(28s in ...

I see the point of the usb isolation unit. Ie to not void your warranty. but having said that I can now charge the lipo in the shed outside and monitor it web internets anywhere so I definitely prefer the bluetooth hack.

Yeah trying to make this last since it cost enough to buy and replacements will take time to be delivered. Thanks for the education, I'm new to lipo but I'm getting the hang of it, first kff the other day hopefully the last.

Lipo damage voltage for 18s = sign of the devil

I think its probably generally excepted that lipo's lower voltage limit per cell is 3.7v. I decided to work out what my new 18s pack would read at 18x3.7 to see what voltage to stay above. To my surprise. 66.6 spooky eh? In other news today finished my battery box for 18s 2p of zippy flightmax 40c 3...

Very tidy, i like it allot. I would be interested in those boards however i am going to give it ago myself first. Ive got an 18s2p pack which potentially i might go to 21s2p or even 24s2p. but I am dealing with a hua tong 72v controller so I will start off with 18s. Go lots of 3s jst connectors whic...

ok not very clear. No I would use one server power supply ie 12v 32amps with all 16 3s batteries in parallel. Im not so stupid that i would attach a 72v powersupply to a 12v battery. basically my question is that the powersupply has no current limiting, so will it be okay to charge at the 32amps whi...

Bulk charging 3s cells

I have been thinking about bulk charging my lipo packs for a while now. I have loads of identical modded server power supplies to do it at the pack voltage in this case 18s. But to do this i need to current limit the power supplies as they will output upto 32 amps. Anyway some crazy (or not) idea i ...

Re: 72v 1500W 40A Hua Tong CA08 XM06AD_P04.1 controller

It lives!!!! All I needed to do was swap the Y and G phase and hall wires. Runs great and fast even on 19s. Can't tell how fast as I don't have a speedometer on this bike. So for ~$37 shipped, and a little work, I've got a decent 72V controller. Next phase of testing is to go to 23s and test the cr...
