Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"
There will be some 50T chain rings for TSDZ with 10mm offset in maybe a month, FYI, but nothing bigger than the 42T 10mm offset for now... Sound nice. But it may not solve my second problem that appears after i move the chainline "in". The rear rubber is quite wide and the chain will rub ...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"
As my chainline is soooo out of straight I thought of the Alfine SG-S7001-11 (11 gears, 409% from lowest to highest gear, ebike approved). Any comments on this before I buy (the whole set is almost 450€ with gear lever and stuff ...)

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"
Has anyone found a dished/offset 52T gear? My chainline is quite bad, even with the gear at the inner side of the spider, and I'd like to move it a bit inwards.

Re: Klein Mantra rebuild / TSDZ2
Today was battery building day. All nickel plates have been cut before, so I only had to install the paper rings on the positive pole, and put them into the printer holders, taking care of the right order. Nickel used was 0.15 pure nickel from nkon. Where I couldn't use one single plate I welded a s...

Re: BOSS LEVEL CUSTOM SPOT WELDER
Looks good. Nice find. Thanks. I always take your videos as reference to see if a weld it ok, good, or perfect. I use blades for testing as well, but have a strange phenonem. It seems that turning UP the time makes welds not better, or at least I don't see those massive burnings as in your video. I...

Re: BOSS LEVEL CUSTOM SPOT WELDER
Thanks to forum user Maddin88 who owns a kweld which is able to show current draw from the battery, I was able to check my 4s A123 AMP20 pack's capability. This pack was built from 6y+ old b-grade cells which set on the shelf for that time. I put them to new use, combining them with metal clamps. So...

Re: Klein Mantra rebuild / TSDZ2
Super Nice! What’s your plan to get the higher gear ratios necessary for 20” wheels? That's a good point I'm not sure about. I ordered the biggest front sprocket it could find which is a 52T. This is 24% more than the regular 42T. The circumfence of the 20" with the moped tire is 172cm compare...

Re: Building 48V 500 Wh 18650 Battery Pack
Yeah. Use case does matter. And power need? How many Watts/Ampere do you need. And every connector adds resistance to the circuit which leads to a voltage drop. So the less connectors and the shorter and thicker the wires are the better the end result will be. Maybe post a picture of how you plan to...

Re: Making slotted nickel strips?
dremel also has fiber-reinforced discs, though they are about twice as thick as the brittle ones. but they don't break easily. I got both of them. And diamond wheels as well. I will try all three kind of cutting wheels as well as the punch with 1mm diameter. It should be possible to punch holes qui...

Re: Making slotted nickel strips?

Those are 25mm wide strips that will cover 6 cells at a time. So cutting with sheers may not be possible most of the time.

Re: Building 48V 500 Wh 18650 Battery Pack
If you use LiIon cell voltage is 3.6V nominal. So you need between 13 or 14 cells in series.

Re: Building 48V 500 Wh 18650 Battery Pack
LiFePo4 is 3.2V nominal. Not 3.6V
48V nominal needs 15 cell in series. And around 10Ah. If you take 2.600mAh cells that's 4 in parallel.
You will build a 15s4p pack = 60 cells and total capacity will be 499.2Wh.

Making slotted nickel strips?
To improve spot welds i's like to slot my nickel strips. Batteries are placed in hexagonal layout and nickel strips are 25mm wide and 0.2mm thick.
I'd even slot them or maybe punch little holes (1mm) and weld on opposite sides.

fwiw, using your exact phrase "nipple holes of the rims are 4.7mm" google finds that weinmann site as the first hit. ;) You are totally right, but other than the first link there was nothing else useful. NO rim manufacturer writes anything about which nipples to use, or what the hole diam...

Re: Rim nipple holes 4.7mm - what to do??
Thanks amberwolf. I searched a lot, but couldn't find ANY info. So it seems 4.7mm is standard. Unfortunately I can't measure any other rims. I already have the rims. I won't order any new ones. I already had 4mm nipples installed, and it worked, but I wanted to make sure all is correct, as those hav...

Rim nipple holes 4.7mm - what to do??
I got Alienation Delinquent rims. Those are 20" BMX rims. I want to re-lace the wheels and use new hubs, so i have to order new spokes (and nipples). All nipples offered which i found are either 4mm or 5mm. But the nipple holes of the rims are 4.7mm. This is somehow strange, as the 4mm nipples ...

Upgrade should work that way: Display is power off. Then all connected, you press "Update firmware", it shows "waiting", and then you press the POWER button shortly and release again. Then it will start updating instantly. No more waiting. If update doesn't start, then something ...
