Re: Hobbit's Rans Fusion
Well they're rated at 2c charge rate = 16amps per batt. x 6 batt's = a staggering 96 amps, charging them in parallel, IN THEORY. I'm setting the charger at 20 amps and its taking maybe an hour or two for the big pack to get up to 4.17 volts per cell...very rough figures there. my charger has a max. ...

I've got a 24v 1000w meanwell and an Icharger 3010. I bulk charge my 6 bricks in parallel on the bike and the 3 brick booster pack seperately. I'm checking everything with my cellog 8 obsessively and balance charge when needed.

Re: Hobbit's Rans Fusion
Update: yesterday saw my first real commute with a 44.5 km round trip. It was just awesome. A ride that used to take 1.5 hrs and all sweaty and stinky for the day then ride for 1.5 back home and fall in a heap now takes about 45 mins each way and just a little out of breath and slight sweating. I WA...

Heh yeah you're on for a rematch. I'll put my fighter pack together so it's a fairer fight :P Well you do kinda owe me a ride on one of yours so...... But yeah you should definately calibrate your shunt - it's probably more like 1.1mohm so it'll throw your AH usage out a bit + the CA will be ...

Yeah the battery box is on my list of things to do, absolutely, but I've gotta first built the pan-brake to build the box, lol. If someone out there could just figure out a way to "create more time" like maybe a 28 hr day would be just perfect, lol. I was just busting to get 'er out on the r...

Hey megacycle, looking good matee, on my way to work so ive got like 30 secs to reply right now. I'm pretty sure icecube is still doing harnesses, i think he was looking at expanding into selling power supplies but discovered ebayers doing it below his cost for crappy ones, by the sound of it, but, ...

So last night I took 'er for a spin in the city. I was going to "Vivid light show/festival/blah", I thought "Yeah, middle of winter, last week of the thing, there'll be no-one around nice and quiet 'lil burr around to see the art..." turns out 250,000 pedestrians had the same ide...

Hey megacycle, the battery medic I got wasn't very accurate for checking my cells out on the road, might be OK for bleed balancing though, butr I cant really comment, never done that. I bought a celllog8 and it's totally accurate. The torch I went with is off of dealextreme.... a Fandyfire uv-s5 for...

I think his CA or 3 speed switch are holding things up though as he should be faster than that. I have the same HI4080 motor on my fighter in a smaller 24" rim with chunky offroad tyres and it's quicker so something is definately wrong with his set up. Interesting ride though! Hmmmm.... 95kg r...

Hey what gear you got plugged in to controller, CA + throttle+ :?:, anything else needed for the basic initial kick in the ass. yep, that's it, CA + throttle and I've got a three speed switch but I think that's optional. I was dyin' to get this thing rollin' so went the (temporary) duct tape rout. ...

From wikipedia.... Lime, also traditionally known as lime green or lime-green, is a color three-quarters of the way between yellow and green (closer to yellow than to green), so named because it is a representation of the color of the citrus fruit called limes. It is the color that is half way betwe...

Is that the hunter valley ev thang?
I read that they don't allow lipo. Which is understandable from an insurance point of view but might rule out a few potential competeters.
I'm still intending to go and watch though.

Yeah, there ya go, much better when it's already in Australia. As for longevity,it's all math, to go flat out at 80 kmh for 20-30 mins is only really possible on a circular empty racetrack. It's very much like cars; fang the crap out of it and your volts x amps go way up and empty out the "tank...

Bumpetty, ya know, just looking at that single photo of the blacktrail was the first time I'd even heard of one. That one photo had me thinking this thing wasn't going to be very stealthy at all, something that lethal looking would get "inspected by an officer" in a heart beat, I thought, ...
