Fully agree.

Tek, I don't care whether you need the money (although if you really need it, giving money is all the sweeter), but I would like to pay something back. If you can think of a way to let us do so, I would be happy to donate.

Wow, Tek, you are the greatest!

You really should receive a percentage of every sold CAv3 from Grin. Without your guidance, not many people would be able to install the thing in the right way.

Re: Cro Motor v2 Dropout Dimensions with 8/9 freewheel

Hi, i am asking cos i can get a 157mm Dropout Frame and it would be cool if it fits with a normal 9x Freewheel. thx Not sure I get it. Why do you want a normal 9x Freewheel? If it is to be able to pedal this thing in anything over 14T on the rear, better think twice. No way you are going to pedal t...

Re: Need help selecting the right battery.

I would pick neither. Take a look at EM3EV. This pack fits inside the triangle: http://em3ev.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=35&product_id=160 Furthermore, you can choose the 16.5Ah version. For an output of 30A, it would mean a discharge lower than 2C, which is perfect for maintainin...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

First, make up your mind how you want the CA to control your throttle. You seem to have a 48V battery but it doesn't say the continuous discharge current. Unless you have a high discharge battery, I would suggest to keep the current low, like max current at 30A, or max power at 1'500W. The advantage...

small thing but you should search for what you are looking for, they are BMSBattery not BMS Battery- no space in the Company name- it makes a difference, you searched for BMS and also battery where you are looking for a couple of the commonest words in posts. Agreed. Also, try this: https://www.goo...

Re: Anyone Using Battery from BMS Battery?

Does it get warm - voltage sag? Did you open the alubox and check cell balance /bms function /build quality? Is the weight as stated 6 kg? I will check weight when I get home. The alubox does not get warm, although this may be partially due to the weather and due to the fact that I pull only 20A-30...

Re: WOW! Brain overload.

1) 48V through a 500-750W motor is definitely required to get the maximum speed that I want. Hmm. I have a 6TMac on 48V with a 15Ah battery for my 30km round commute and my CAv3 tells me I need 900W continuous to maintain 40kmh. At 900W acceleration from 0 to 40kmh takes half a minute (slow) but it...

Re: Anyone Using Battery from BMS Battery?

Hi there, After reading almost every thread on this company, I decided to take the risk, and bought this 48V 15Ah High C-Rate battery pack from BMS Battery. I now use it on my bike connected with a 12 FET 4115 Lyen controller to a 6T Mac from EM3EV. A Grin precision shunt is connected to my CAv3, an...

Re: Brake Talk

Fully support the Avid Single Digit (SD) levers and arms. I have used them with the stock brake pads as well as with the Kool Stop stuff on the rear wheel of one of my ebikes (HT3525 20S setup) and on the rear wheel of my daughter's normal bike. Both bikes ha(d)ve a hydraulic disc brake on the front...

Re: Complete switch - Cheap crankdrive MTB

I added a precision shunt from Grin in between the Battery and Controller. http://www.ebike.ca/store/photos/Shunt-SA.jpg Response is great. It takes indeed around 1kW to maintain 45kmh. I will start logging data in the datalogger probably next week and create some nice graphs. First, I want to conne...

Re: Complete switch - Cheap crankdrive MTB

Well, maybe the low pressure DH tires play a role. And I am not completely sure I have the correct rshunt value entered in the CA. I remembered a value of 1.375mohm, but it is probably better to calibrate again.

Update

I removed the sides of the nobs of my tire, realigned the rim within the frame (more dishing) and now the Mac + 24" HALO rim + 3.0 inch tire fit within the frame. The controller is a 4115 12 FET version from Lyen, and it is controlled by the CAv3 with throttle in power mode. My main battery is a 48V...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

Why do you want to open your motor? Only to put a thermistor inside even though it has one already?

If you are going to open it, better prepare to change the phase and hall wires as well. At least that will make it worth all the hassle it takes to open the darn thing.

OK, so then I guess you have already taken the green wire from the CA dp plug, and connected it to the throttle signal wire at the controller side? And you attached the throttle to the CA?

Re: MAC 7T and CA V3 not giving power

I've read CaV3_UUG_3-0p6-a-err2.pdf and the 2.3 manual. I'm about halfway through CaV3_UUG_3-0p6-a.pdf But those manuals are not very user friendly  Hmm, I think the manual is actually very user friendly! But I do agree that they require a certain knowledge of ebikes. First, it looks like you...

Re: Complete switch - Cheap crankdrive MTB

I forgot, I actually tested the Mac with my sensorless 6FET controller. It works well, but only up to a very limited rpm. I guess, the sensorless controller just cannot drive it (or any geared hubbie) above a certain eRPM. Ebike.ca actually mentions this and talks about an upper limit of 13000 eRPM....

Re: Complete switch - Cheap crankdrive MTB

48V 15Ah 50A battery pack with rear battery rack came in. BMSBattery delivered in a timely fashion, however, only after asking me for another $40 for shipping. I don't like that, but I was not surprised after reading similar things about BMSBattery on this forum. Laced the Mac 6T into a 24" HALO SAS...
