Re: A123 AMP20M1HD-A Battery pack kit

Posting this to see if there is some interest in complete kits. Again, few changes: 1. Front cover plate will not be included as there will be PP plastic (100C) cover vacuum formed to hide all connections. 2. Only Front blocks used. 3. Brass nuts soldered to the PCB to further ease assembly 4. Comp...

If you're still riding those 3x20" kendas good luck! Shinkos were a huge improvement.

Will be interested in what you find for a rear shock replacement.. If you search ES, you'll find some guys went wih a pricey fox air shock which they like....

Re: Any experience / opinion on Li-NMC packs from HiPowercyc

If size and weight are a factor, just go with 10ah of 18s 20C (200A) lico (66.6V nominal) for ~$250, 10.5lbs. IMO, only an idiot would pay that much for that pack. Hobby Lipos are kind of crude.. Cant figure out how to charge the entire 60v pack at once.. If you make a mistake goodbye pack.. And th...

Re: Any experience / opinion on Li-NMC packs from HiPowercyc

Size will be a bit bigger but cost will be lower and cycle life would be higher with Ping or cellman packs. EbikesSF has the allcell packs which is probably a similar cell. You will be dealing with good business people in all these cases. The high power cycles pack is around 1,300 per kw/hr which i...

Re: Thinking about running stock A2B metro 36v with an Allce

I have that bike and running the frame battery over 2c doesn't seem like a good idea at all... 20a should be the limit imo.

When my 09 A2B motor finally cooks I was thinking about using a MP3.. probably get 25 mph w/36v.. same problem though since the integrated controller is 35a.

Expensive $1000 delivered for a 63v 12.5ah LINMC battery pack w/charger. Only weighs 10.6 lbs.. Can fit in a frame easily.

They say 700+ cycles...

Are there better choices, consider size, cycle life and cost?

The financial collapse under the Bush Administration hit south florida right between the eyes... Area is dependent on new construction and tourism, both of which suffered huge losses in 2008, and continued for the first 3 years under President Obama.. It takes a while to right this ship. There has to be another option for a battery replacement other than $650. I'm good with a solder gun. Do you have the wiring diagram on how you had the motor rewired after the internal controller was removed?

If you're doing 35 mph the death grip is understandable... Also sphincter grip! I use Ergo grips from Germany and they relieved wrist and forearm stress.... Concave or Convex depending on how you flip them. There are many different sizes and types... here's one http://www.ebay.com/itm/ERGO-LOCKING-G...

Thanks for all your comments... I can't really complain about eh A2B Battery life.. They told me 500 cycles was the 50% limit when i bought it... So if i get another 100 cycles or so i'd be satisfied. Edimame, If you have a primary pack ready in a few months I would be interested in hearing about it...

That's kind of funny... I get questioned all the time, and let people ride my UltraMotor A2B if they want. Some people accuse me of cheating? Others think it's a great idea esp in the summer heat.

I try to tell the naysayers that China has over 100 Million E bikes on the road. They don't relate.

That's an interesting thought Y... Adding a 6v in series with the A battery sounds like a good idea.

I went to a 46t chainwheel, but it didn't help much.. I can get to 21 mph with pedaling.

Sorry to hear you had problems right out of the box. I can relate to the spoke issue and it is very common for new E Bikes. Recently I was hit by some airhead in a Mercedes SUV who turned into me crossing an intersection... My front rim took the brunt of the impact and it had a severe wobble. Walked...
