Re: Is a 24s battery dangerous?

If there is any(!) way to get the power and speed needed from sub 60V DC I would never ever go to 100V DC. At least in my Country anything above 60V DC needs special cables and systems (the orange stuff in electric cars). You are responsible to prevent anyone from touching that voltages. From a tech...

Re: Grin Base/PhaseRunner without Cycle Analyst

Would it be possible to use a PAS display that connects to the throttle input with the phaserunner, like this one from em3ev? https://em3ev.com/shop/pas-controllerdisplay-sensor/ Are there any Arduino projects people have used for a similar purpose? The CA3 is so big and chunky. Sadly not, afaik. I...

Re: Around the world on a solar ebike

Do you happen to know about builders of custom made lightweight solar panels within the EU? because of VAT, customs and transport and warranty reasons this is obviously the preferred choice for me living there. I know about Solbian but afaik the do not make lightweight rigid panels. I'm still into t...

Re: Around the world on a solar ebike

Mostly, I’m breaking radio silence to share an interesting development that’s come to my attention recently. LightLeaf Solar is a new Canadian startup offering custom-made solar panels uniquely suited for use on an ebike: good weight/power ratio and integrated with a stiff structural panel so they’...

I do own a direct drive hub motor (VIVANA LE250RH, Nanfong Leisheng Special Motors Co Ltd. ) that runs at 300rpm @ 36V and weights 3.06kg incl. mount for a cassette and option to mount disc brakes. 36 spoke holes though, which sadly excludes most lightweight rims. Sadly my motor has an axle grinded ...

Very nice and highly appreciated. But may I suggest something. For comparison I would prefer if you would keep the axis fixed, lets say capacity from 1000mAh to 3000mAh on each diagram and Ri from 0 mOhm to lets say 150mOhm on the other axis. Maybe x-axis fixed to 0-1000 cycles, too. (I don't know h...

Re: Charge 52V Dolphin with this MPT-7210A?

If you want it to use with a solar panel: It does NOT have an MPP tracker. MPP tracking is just a fake. I tries to reach the power you set it to and tan works at that level as a boost charger (outside the MPP) and if there is a shadow or something else it stops working. At lwast this is how my thing...

It's possible there are thermal advantages from the higher voltage relative to other inverter tech available to Porsche but it can't be assumed.. generally higher voltage capable silicon has a proportional increase in resistance. There are 'sweet spots' where system efficiency peaks and perhaps 800...

We’re nowhere close to being able to build out the massive energy projects required. The equivalent of 200, 10 MW off shore (or 450, 4MW onshore) wind turbines every day for the next 30 years? That’s a total pipe dream. While at the same time replacing all built out fossil fuel infrastructure with ...

Poor analogy there.. you misinterpreted the analysis. You should have said...” Yes, most CO2 INCREASE is from natural processes.” No it isn't. The additional CO2 from 280pp to 410ppm is 100% from fossil fuels. It's even more than that, but the oceans and biosphere have absorbed some of our CO2 outp...

Yes, most CO2 s from natural processes. But is 5% more CO2 harmless? Try to add 3000g water to your body every day, but only remove 2850g every day (95%). So only 5% of your water intake is to much. Is it harmless if you add 150g of water outside the natural cycle to your body every day? After just ...
