Oops. I crossed my phase wires

Hey guys, I'm hoping you can help me. I'm building an ebike, and I ended up crossing the blue and green phase wires from the controller to the motor. Typically when this happens, is it more likely that the controller is burnt out or the motor. I have fixed the wires, and the motor will run for about...

Re: GNG, 1000W 48V BB-drive, $400

I got my 18S of Turnigy nano-tech 6Ah today. Looks like I'll be able to squeeze all 6 packs into the triangle. I'm going to mock up a box to house them out of cardboard, and make sure everything will clear well. I've heard of people using the cheap cutting boards to make boxes; what else are people ...

Re: GNG, 1000W 48V BB-drive, $400

How much weight is going to be on that tail tray? It looks like it only clamps on the seat post. I've heard bad things about them damaging bikes permanently with too much weight on them. Funny you should ask that. I took it off when I got home from work today. I'm going to mount the controller just...

Hey Guys, I've been lurking here for quite a while. Soaking up all that tasty knowledge. Mmmmm knowledge...... I have started building my first electric bike. I have a background in (gas) motorcycles so this is new but not entirely unfamiliar. I am still waiting on my batteries and charger to arrive...

Re: Kelly KEB72121E variable regen

@Arlo1: I had an 87 cbr250 too. That was my second bike when I was growing up. It'll be cool to see one reborn as an electric. I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for the build thread

Re: Kelly KEB72121E variable regen

@vax: that's a good idea! I'll have to look into using a hall sensor. I know the US is easier to get a vehicle registered than other countries but I have to do more research regarding the ability to have just e-brake on one wheel and mechanical on the other. I'll be sure to share what I find out on ...

Re: Oil cooling your hub- NOT snake oil!

(I'm new here, this is my first post) I kind of read fast through this thread to get caught up so I may have missed it, but I thought I'd share the link to the BGSU paper that bigmoose mentioned back on page 1. This is direct from the BGSU website: http://www.bgsu.edu/downloads/tech/file55536.pdf Pi...
