Re: Farfles Electric Ultralight.

I never met him in person but always admired his projects and contributions to the EV community. His supermoto bike was one of my favorite builds ever. I can't even imagine the amount of creativity that was inspired directly by his enthusiasm and commitment to EV development. Intentionally or not he...

Re: Nucular electronics - complete kit for ev! [beta]

I am still waiting on a pre-order for a micro. Can I decide to have it potted when my controller is ready or does that move me back to the end of the list?

Edit:
Oops. Just read back a few pages and remembered that all the micros are potted. Answered my own question.

Re: Is this possible to get over 100v?

It would probably work, if the bms can handle the extra voltage. 24s seems to be the wrong way to go from what I understand. Too high for most controllers (with 100v components), and unnecessary low for most higher voltage controllers. . Hi thanks Hmmm so if the 4S pack had its own bms and the 20S ...

Nice work getting it going. Wish more of these controllers would have made it into the wild.

What kind of fork is that?

Re: can't make Turnigy ESC with thumb throttle work

Here is a good read on tuning throttles with resistors if you are in the mood for a lot of info. Post #3 has the elimination of dead zone portion with the picture of the blue 10k potentiometer. But this is the part I think you are looking for. In simple non scientific terms: Your clamping the ground...

This is the most recent place I have seen 20R cells for sale. Not bare cells but they look like relatively lean packages.

Re: can't make Turnigy ESC with thumb throttle work

When you release the throttle does the pulse width stay above 1ms? The only ESC I ever messed with had a similar calibration at power up. After the full throttle of 2ms I had to release the throttle and it needed to see slightly above 1ms or it would fault. You may need to add resistors to the throt...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

I thought about trying to duplicate an electric freewheel with a CA using a PAS sensor attached to the wheel hub. My thinking is to lock the pedal assist power to a small value just enough to keep the slack out of the drive chain and have it use that value when my hand throttle is at zero because it...

Re: Observed trials bike designing

Interesting. I find that I like a little less rotation than the domino has anyway so having to limit the bottom of the rotation is not a bad thing. The logarithmic curve in that link might be exactly what I am looking for trying to tame my cheap speed based controller.

Great deal on ISIS freewheeling cranks

Hey everyone. NW trials is going out of business and clearing out inventory. I just spotted ISIS cranks that I believe have freewheel threads for $15. You might want to email them to be sure they are threaded but if they are thats a pretty good deal. https://www.nwtrials.com/apps/webstore/products/s...

Re: Observed trials bike designing

Glad you are back in the thread. The Domino throttle is the best thing for any ebike. I love mine. Well worth the money. I didnt realize you could tune the curve with resistors though. I thought you could only remove the deadband at the bottom or change the max point to an earlier position. I assume...

Re: QS 3000w midmotor

Slightly OT but does ferrofluid eat magnets? Also, this new 4k motor is listed at 13kg. Isn't that the same as the 3k? Can we just assume its 33% more capable? They are saying its 14kw max and sometimes 20kw. All of that sounds like what people regularly do with the 3k. 138 motor. Is this maybe the ...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

Much like the throttle surging issue there is a speed gain that you can mess with. this setting controls the amount of overshoot before it acts in both directions. The idea is to narrow this window as tight as you can get it until it feels like it's surging. I don't know right off hand what the sett...

Re: LG Chem P1~15Ah ~1.2mOh ~10C+ High Power PHEV Cells~10$ Ea.

If you are already willing to cut these apart anyway would you be able to make and sell custom configurations? For example, my ideal battery for an electric motorcycle would be 20s 3p of these cells. Since you are already splitting the 3p groups apart could you build a 20s 3P pack in the factory for...

Re: Custom spider- need advice on type/grade of steel

Would probably make more sense to see it all assembled in the model but I believe you. I wanted to speak up if by chance it was an error and you were going to pay a bunch to have one made. I agree with the suggestions about trying to make it flat so it can be waterjet or laser cut. That is way cheap...

I think they default to 1mohm when you reset them. My 25 amp controller shunt is 4.66 mohms. That is very likely what happened.

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

Sounds like you might not have your shunt value set properly in the CA setup menu. If you are running a grinfineon controller then the shunt value should be written on the bottom of the controller. It will be some value expressed in milliohms. In the CA calibration menu there will be a shunt value s...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

I read the CA manual for wiring. Id like to do pass thru wiring with the grin shunt and have the throttle wire ONLY going from the shunt to the controller green wire. But at the handlebars, do I plug the throttle directly into the CA unit controller connector with ALL 3 wires as normal or only red ...
