Re: CARVON Single + VESC settings for better startup and bra

It will really be difficult without knowing the percentage of the Pulsewidth. That's odd with the OSX even with the square next to the Display is checked. I would experiment with my remote settings on FOC, as the VESC seems to read the motor better on FOC mode. On FOC, you can jam the throttle to th...

Nice info!
Dude, hub motors + VESC on FOC is like sneak attack ninja style. It's like driving a Prius under 10 mph, Lol.

CARVON Single + VESC settings for better startup and braking

Now that I have my VESCs, I'd like to share some settings that I think is good for a faster CARVON Single Hub startup and better braking. The Single Hub + VESC's performance is highly affected by the remote control you use and the VESC setting for it. These are only recommended settings and you can ...

Re: Noob does Hubz!

Nice! That's a lot of work with the re-wind and the sensors, but I'm pretty sure it's gonna ride like heaven with those 107mm Electric Flywheels. I'd use 12s to keep the windings cool and have better startup even with the big wheels. Don't worry about top speed, the acceleration slows down a lot whe...

Re: Budget Electric Shortboard

You are welcome. And welcome to Endless Sphere! Your batteries are good. The Enertion remote should come with receiver, charging cable, lanyard and silicone grip cover, or at least that's what it came with mine when I used to sell them too. Be careful with the receiver though, it's just the PCB with...

Re: Budget Electric Shortboard

Hi Agustin, haimindo uses CARVON Dual Hubs. If you want to see the Single Hub perform, watch RunPlayBack's videos: https://www.youtube.com/user/Three21Media I recommend using 12s and VESC for the Single Hub, and the remote control that Enertion sells, not the 2.4Ghz remote controls. Or else your sta...

Re: 12s A123 ANR26650 Battery Pack

I'm about to release a 12s1p and a 12s2p A123 26650 with 60A BMS. This will mainly power my Single Hub. The thing with the 18650 is, even though the LG and Samsung cell has 20A max discharge, you would not want to constantly pull that much amps out of it. It will substantially decrease its life cycl...

Re: community project HUB MOTOR

But I don't think okp is interested in cogging torque. :D He had a video of my Single Hub start slow and creep without cogging--which in by itself is remarkable because we all remember the horrible cogging we will get when we go slow on 6s RC-grade ESCs. That's why everyone advocated for a little pu...

Hey there, welcome to ES.

I would recommend the VESC, just do a search here or google it. You may need a new battery pack and I would check diyelectricskateboard.com or enertion.com for their convenient battery pack solutions.

Re: Hub or not to Hub ?!

I recently rode mccloed's board with a Single and VESC. I just rode it up to 5mph, basically I just wanted to see how it started, and it did go fine. mccloed even starts it without kicking and it goes. It's not a rocket-start, but it went, no cogging, just smooth. This guy is over 200 lb and his pro...

Re: Hub or not to Hub ?!

okp, I'm guessing here because I have not used VESC, but check your neutral range and try to put it on narrow or smallest range. Happened to one of my riders when he had the range on widest and was only getting to 20mph max on Dual hubs at 12s. Now he gets to 30mph easily after adjusting to narrowes...

Re: Hub or not to Hub ?!

Cool review okp! Believe it or not, some people actually like it the way you just explained it--slow start but with a good top end speed. It's important that the ESC can supply the high amps needed on startup because of the absence of gearing. The amps does even out once its moving. I have to be hon...

.... You will never hear a Boosted fire thanks to the LiFePO4 stable chemistry. Exactly. I'm pretty sure these packs have been abused by a lot of people, yet they still come back up and deliver. They are really robust....literally. I feel like the Li-Ion 18650 cells are being pushed to the consumer...

I know, they were Li-Ion 18650 and were supposedly safer than Li-polys. But they still lit up, quite dramatically too...really good for a viral video. I've not heard of a Boosted fire, and there are tons of them too. I read that Evolve fire. Where's beto_pty? Re: CARVON V2 Dual Hubs on 12s Hill Climb Video

For the E-go, you would need to modify almost all of the electronics whether you go hub motor or with a new belt-motor. They have their whole system integrated and they really don't want it messed around. I've experimented with the Backfire/Melonboard/Lecdec board and replaced the belt-motor with a ...
