Re: KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW
I'm currently using Xnyle's 'X4 throttle' branch which, as previously reported, works extremely well for me. There's just one small issue that's bugging me though - the calibration of the battery bars. (12s lipo, LCD3 display) It was always possible with previous versions to calibrate the battery ba...

Re: KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW
@geofft Thanks for the report. How did you find out about that branch and how to use it so fast? Did a little bird twitter "coke" down from the stance? ;-) Nothing so sinister - simply down to me lurking on the German pedelec forum and relying on google translate. 'High Seat Cola' (google...

Re: KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW
@Xnyle,
I've just tested your 'X4 throttle' branch and can confirm that, for me, it works faultlessly. Certainly better than my cobbled up torquesensor and throttle wired in parallel method...
This Torquesensor with throttle override option is perfect for my needs, many thanks for your efforts.

Re: KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW
That pedals will not work for the ones that do mtb or road bike, because everyone uses the clip pedals. I think the sensor on the cranks would cover almost everyone. Hmm....good point, I hadn't thought of that. That's a shame because I got a reply from them saying they come with a receiver unit tha...

Regarding those pedal sensors:- https://forehorse.en.made-in-china.com/product/SvXmFnKxMOVB/China-Wireless-Electronic-Pedal-Torque-Sensor-for-E-Bike.html ....I was rather hoping they would come with a wireless (bluetooth?) receiver unit that had 'standard' torquesensor type outputs. This way I could...

Re: KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW
I hope someday to use the 3kw Bafang BBSHD mid drive motor drive (for my future cargobikes when I will have baby) with KT motor controller and this firmware, then, I will want to add support for the 850C and SW102 as on the TSDZ2 firmware. The Bafang BBSHD, we can't simple develop firmware for it, ...

The o/s firmware is actually loaded into the controller not the display. The display you mention isn't supported by the fw and even if the c...

Re: Bafang BBSHD BBS02 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware
The Kunteng (S12S) type controllers would have a lot of advantages and make life much easier for the developers - if the size can be reduced a little these seem like the best option. I see that PSWpower are now marketing a "20amp" version of the KT36/48svpr (6fet), I'm wondering if for th...

Re: Bafang BBSHD BBS02 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware
I was looking again to the S12S motor controller I have here. The case says 40A. This controller is big but the PCB uses about 2/3 of the case and I think I can cut with a metal saw the 1/3 and let the case to be smaller and lighter. S12S has the advantage that there are versions up to 72V at least...

Re: KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW
Hi, using this firmware, can I reprogram my 12 mosfet controller to a lesser amperage? I think the version I purchased is too much for my battery, but not entirely clear yet on why. Like could I limit it using the amperage setting to 20 amps? As long as your controller is a suitable type for the fi...

Yes, by now I already think it is a dead end road due to X8M06 That's a real shame, I was really hoping you guys would turn your attention to the BBS02/HD at some point. I've got a couple of these, great drives that would be even better with some more capable firmware and a torquesensor. Would ther...

Re: KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW
For me there are just two situations where you need throttle capability in the (current) torquesensor mode:- 1) Pulling away quickly from a standstill, 2) In awkward 'feet down' situations where you are manoeuvring at slow speed around obstructions. For instance allowing X seconds of throttle withou...

I'm using the Sempu torque sensor and i have it working, but is it possible to use a throttle in addition to this? I'm currently using a Sempu T4 torquesensor and also have a throttle connected. Re: KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW
If you don't want so much power dissipation/heat you could replace the linear regulator (resistor/LM317 combination) with a 15V buck converter such as the CUI V7815W-500. I did this on mine (ignore the TL783 stuff, I went for the buck instead). https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7976...

Re: KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW
Maybe @geofft could write something about the Q128 regarding vibrations. There seems to be no inherent problem with vibrations with this motor (Q128H) and with my current settings it pulls smoothly and quietly throughout the rpm range. When I've had issues with cogging, etc, during the development ...

Hey there, **Edit** I have replaced the LM317 as it was the only thing getting warm. Well.. no luck unfortunately. The controller is just pulling too much current. Don't know if it's hardware or software related, and the reason I ask here 😅☝️ I've only had experience with the KT36/48 type controlle...

I've just tried out the current github download, maybe I should mention that there seems to be some problem. Some of the 'Proven settings' seem to build and flash ok, others don't. Neither of the proven settings provided by myself will flash and there appears to be an error during the build that wil...

So which one of the torque sensors on Aliexpress would you recommend for use with the Open Source controller? The Sempu T4? The Eunorau type? thx in advance I'm using the Sempu T4 with stancecoke's firmware, this works just fine for me. Don't bother with the T2 type, these give an output with any p...

Re: KT motor controllers -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for BMSBattery S/Kunteng KT motor controllers (0.25kW up to 5kW
I have an S06S flashed with this firmware, and when I turn on the kit, the motor starts going at a moderate speed and doesn't stop until it's turned off again. Whenever I've had this issue I've usually managed to fix it by making an adjustment to the zero point - this was using stancecoke's advice,...
