Re: New Bafang Crank-drives

Best chain to use? I'm currently in chain land trying to understand and learn about them today. Any suggestions on resources for learning appreciated. Here's what I have. ~600 miles and no worse for wear. http://www.amazon.com/SRAM-P-Link-Bicycle-Chain-8-Speed/dp/B000VDFQAA/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1...

Re: New Bafang Crank-drives

I wonder if anyone has any idea whether or not BMW's bike is using a 68mm or 73mm bottom bracket? This is their 2014 Cruise bike and I'm in love with it, I might just order it this week and slap the Bafang on it. It's got everything I want on it. Decent shocks, 30 speeds! Shimano Deore. And the pri...

Re: Bafang BBS02 Noise from gear

Mine was making odd sounds also. I tore it down, but have not yet found any broken gears. It may have just gotten dirt or debris in the gear housing, so I am in the process of cleaning and regreasing the gears. I should be hearing back from lcrewse shortly for guidance on grease type. Then I will P...

Re: New Bafang Crank-drives

Drive torn down. No apparent damage to gears, Nylon or otherwise. Planning on regreasing and reassembling. What grease should I use. There is a white grease around the nylon gear (Teflon?) and a black grease around the secondary gear. I just used red gunk in a can. Multi temp heavy duty. The proble...

Re: Help me figure out an X box 360 power supply

At the garage sale I thought I made what seemed like a good score today, two X box power supplies. 3 bucks each. Labels say 175w of 12-14v. Should run a 150w RC charger ok. Trouble is, despite a green light that is supposed to indicate good power, I can find no voltage on the terminals of the plug....

Re: New Bafang Crank-drives

I got a 750W Kit and battery from http://www.conhismotor.com It took only three days from ordering to my doorstep. The battery was faulty. They tried to have me trouble shoot it for a bit. I got tired of that and asked for a new one which took a month. It's all good now. I'll continue to buy from t...

Re: New Bafang Crank-drives

I come across some recommendations here for Paul at em3ev.com for having good customer service. But exactly how good is his customer service? Is it worth paying 34% extra for? (em3ev - $550, BMSBattery - $409) Have you add shipping? Could try Amy http://www.aliexpress.com/item/C963-come-with-48v-75...

Re: New Bafang Crank-drives

I have begun my production run of adaptor hubs for the bbso2 to change the stock gearing to a lower ratio ,to keep the motor temp lower and to aid in steeper hill climbing. If anyone out there is interested i should have these completed in a week or so :P Where are you in the world? An island state...

Kepler, How'd you go about getting the secondary gear bearing housing removed :?: After removing the 3 obvious philips screws, mine doesn't seem to want to budge. Re: New Bafang Crank-drives

I will grab a copy if that if you dont mind. With the fuel economy calc, it is a good idea to add a second calc that takes into account your battery costs and estimated cycles. As with the electrons used, the battery is in reality a consumable also. When you factor this in, economy against an ICE d...

Re: New Bafang Crank-drives

I am leaning towards 750w as the price difference is minimal. How likely to be pulled over by police is the question. Lol... very unlikely assuming you are not doing stupid things.. like 50-60kph on the road without pedaling. If you hit someone resulted in injuries... expected to be charged for unl...

Re: New Bafang Crank-drives

Riding home tonight, noticed a bit of unusual noise coming from the drive. When I got home, I took the chain off and ran the drive up. Sure enough, the unusual noise continued and sounded worse with the chain off, almost like a grinding noise. Next I checked for play both in the cranks and in the c...

Could be similar to my issue... a roller in the chain link got crush(deformed) resulting in link jamming and derailier noise... cheap chains or changing gear techniq need to improve.

Re: New Bafang Crank-drives

Does anyone have any thoughts on fitting a BBS02 750w with a Gates belt drive. I have the opportunity to pick up a Focus Planet TR1 cheaply, which has a 8 speed alfine and a gates drive. I should be able to use one of the 4 spoke 104mm spiders that has been made available. Looking to use this a a d...
