I injected automotive grease into mine. Still silent and working perfect after thousands of miles. How is it you inject this automotive grease? Which automotive grease do you use? I hear inject and think syringe, but I doubt you are using a needle : P I need 40ccs of automotive grease, stat! This f...

Re: GNG 1000W battery options

Looking for around a 20AH pack for the GNG450 watt kit I just got and having trouble deciding on the 6s lipo 5000mah bricks that may be best for me long term. I am planning upgrades to the kit and will be most likely pushing things a bit as the years roll on. I have decided to go with a LIPO pack 1...

Re: Ebrake to activate brake light?

Yeah, I am definitly not using a brake light that big. I e-mailed mouser for guidance on the specific relay explaining the situation as best I could. The only thing I am not sure of is if the ebrakes go from 5v to 0v or 0v to 5v and how you actually tell if the relay works for either 'direction'. I ...

Re: 9 FET 72V Infineon Brushless Controller (LYEN's Edition)

I think it would be useful, even as an optional upgrade, to include the ability to have a brake light turn on/off when the ebrake is pulled. Allowing a brake light to function like a car's brake light does.

I just want to make sure I have all this straight. Kool stop salmon brake pads, two sets. Is there any consideration for a 20 inch wheel vs a 26? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKUOB8MN4Kc Excellent. I'll find a relay with clear housing, I've looked into this pulley you suggest, but I doubt I fully understand the issue involved. Re: An idea for clean power

I have heard of several versions of geothermal heat extraction. In the ocean, a volcano, deep underground and so on. It often seems puzzling to me that we as a species don't utilize these ideas more thoroughly. Especially when it comes to temperature moderation concerning homes. All of these ideas s...

Re: Planning first ever build, am i on the right track?

If you do end up going with your 'as many 8s1p packs' plan, remember to order an even number of packs. I know it's been said once, but just to be clear, 3.3-3.2 times 16 = 52.8-51.2, 3 volts is usually around the end of a cell's useability and time to recharge, which is why I assume they chose to co...

freehub noise

Hello http://thechive.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/83079021.gif, I have been pondering the many aspects of ebiking. One aspect is that I am likely going to be doing very little pedaling. I imagine the noise of freewheeling at 20mph+ to be a bit much after some time, annoying at least. I would guess s...

Re: I just had a conspiracy idea; meteors as weapons?

I saw an episode of star trek voyager where some alien species was propelling meteors to an alien planet. Their goal was to scare off the inhabitants and then either take the planet for their own species or sell the planet. So, maybe they go and rip up a chunk of the moon, and hurl it at some place ...

Re: SCAM ALERT.. domain registry of canada, SCAM....

It bothers me that domain information is so public and easy to access. I want to say godaddy was advertising a service to include with the registry fee that would allow you to put the domain registry information as theirs. I don't know how that worked out or if it's even technically legal, but it'd ...

Need some LifeP04 advice - got a problem

Have you put a multimeter into the connections of the pack? Are you certain the controller and the battery are connecting with each other as they should? The absolutely first step would be to check it with a multimeter. If you don't have a multimeter, you are doing more than one thing wrong. There a...

Are you getting a commission for every sale from OSN? Nothing's wrong with that, but it'd nice to know if the recommendation is coming from someone who has ACTUALLY used the product or from a saleman. I've been wondering the same thing, he got upset when I called him out last time. Pingbattery and ...

Re: Ebrake to activate brake light?

Thanks for the well thought out responses guys. I think I'd rather have more braking strength available rather than less. It seems my bike doesn't have the option for mounting the disc brake calipers so I am pretty limited to 'regular' brakes. Relying on just one brake sounds a little too weak for c...

Re: frame design

I think you'd be better off asking this question at an engineering forum or a welding forum at least. This cardboard layout doesn't mean much. What the bigger concern is is frame strength. Wrong materials and incorrect material thickness can mean frame failure. That'd be bad news. Not much else to s...

Why not get the battery from em3ev as well? I am in a similar boat as you dougunder, planning.
