Re: Ebrake to activate brake light?

I bet the grey beards are laughing at me right now. I found http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Te5YYVZiOKs this video as well, and it gives a really perfect and simple explanation. Now to find the appropriate transistor/mosfet 5v=off 0v=on, I think. I likely need something else to go with it, unsure as ...

Re: Cycle Analyst v3 Full Throttle

Seems like a simple solution would be to create two testing parameters, with CA and without. Then measure your top speed between each. However, this test is hard to truly conduct outside, too many variables. Even if you ride on the same path in the same direction wind can play a pretty heavy part in...

Recommend minumum lumens per 10mph/kph?

Hello,

What is the smallest number of lumens you'd recommend at 10, 20, 30, 40 and so on?

Re: Ebrake to activate brake light?

I don't know any particular ones, but I have seen pads on some controllers in troubleshooting threads that have labels implying they are for brake lights. Some of the scooter controllers have had relays for it or pads for a relay to be soldered to. But realistically, it's probably harder to change ...

Re: Razor Ecosmart Metro - potential upgrades?

A sad truth. Fast, cheap, good, pick two. I don't know anything about the vehicle you speak of, but higher voltage is likely to get you there faster. However, the faster you go, the more power you consume. I don't know if you could change your controller or if your controller could accommodate, but ...

I dunno if I'd be too keen on using pins to keep a trailer on the bike. I say this solely because if someone wanted to steal it, it would take them 5 seconds to remove. It seems unlikely, but I guess I am paranoid. Wow, 42 wh/m, I've never seen that high, you must climb tons of hills. I love the set...

Maybe you could splice an on off switch from before the power+ gets to the "DC Motor Speed Switch Controller" This is brilliant though, thanks a ton for sharing it. Re: noob: lead acid pros/cons

I don't know if this has been said, I skimmed and didn't see this. 12v 4ah is not the same as 48v 10ah. To give you a better understanding, the cost per watt with that lead acid battery is $1.88 per watt. The ping battery in your list is $0.79 per watt(not including shipping). . Hmm ?.. a little mo...

Re: noob: lead acid pros/cons

I don't know if this has been said, I skimmed and didn't see this. 12v 4ah is not the same as 48v 10ah. What will give you a better understanding is finding how many watt hours are in each battery. Finding watts is pretty easy here. Volts times amps. Multiply 12(v) by 4(ah) and you get 48(watts). No...

Re: Ebrake to activate brake light?

The brake light circuit is not part of the controller. Pack +voltage thru a resistor, 400 ohm, to an evg bike tail light then use the ebrake handle switch to connect to controller ground. These days a dc to dc converter would be a better way to power the light. I was assuming I'd have to power it w...

Neat list of suggestions. I take 'garlic baths'. I am currently seeking out the hottest garlic, as it is said the hotter the garlic the more allicin it has. Re: 200w led headlamp 10-15k lumens Diy build

15k lumens is beyond intense. It's what you might expect to see on the landing gear of an aircraft or something. I don't know if there are any laws about brightness on the road anywhere, but that'd be a pretty harshly overkill on the amount of light. I'd be worried about blinding drivers, seriously....

Re: Estonia launches first nat'l EV charging network

Neato indeed. I often think battery swap stations might be cool, and other times I think placing power lines, that trams go under, over many major roads and all highways may be the way to go. Everything is pros and cons. Still, the number of EV users they have, or maybe the world has, seems small. C...

Ebrake to activate brake light?

Hello, It dawned upon me that I am without a solid plan for both headlights and taillights for an ebike. Originally, I imagined just using a silly old red flasher at the back, but some how I've concluded that the best option is a light that turns on when the ebrake/regen is activated. It seems like ...

51.2v times 16ah equals 819.2watts 51.2v times 15ah equals 768watts which will be more powerful? What? The cheap ebay one, no question. 819 to 768. Actually, that's not the measure of power, only of capacity. EbikeWizard left off a very important unit, "hours". Both of those are Watt-hours (capacit...
