Re: HPC Revolution XXX

All this has to fit in here... I might go with a pulley vs. the Blackspire roller. There's a ton of measuring at this stage. Hi mate, awesome build. You can use a bmx half link chain from motor to cranks and it enables you to get the chain tighter as you remove 1 link at a time not 2 as you would o...

I run my AFT version at 50v and 50A (2500w)
Done 6500 miles and never had it overheat once, i do have the large cooling fins and live in the U.K where its not really warm much.

Re: Custom Giant Dh, Lightning Rods Big Block, Nuvinci N171

Can the N171 handle 3kw? The N171 is rated at 5kw continuous. Subscribed! Wow, 5KW! I have been trying to find some more info on this as I was considering an Alfine 8 for a Luna but this seems to be the better way to go if it can handle 5KW. Is that a Fallbrook rating or someone else on ES? Looking...

Re: Turbo bike kit chain wheel drive loose

Please look at where the scissors are pointing, this is the cover plate that needs screwing in clockwise to tighten your freewheel. Please see the 2 small indentations that you need to use to screw the cover plate back in. thank you! but how did you get the freewheel out? do i have to open the moto...

Re: Turbo bike kit chain wheel drive loose

Leave it where it is and tighten it.
Or the alloy bit it screws on to may have a grub screw to remove that piece.

Re: Turbo bike kit chain wheel drive loose

There is a cover on the end that you can screw back in, make sure you do not over tighten and use threadlock.
You may need a punch or a screwdriver to tap it back around, there are 2 small holes in the plate for doing this.

Re: Custom Giant Dh, Lightning Rods Big Block, Nuvinci N171

wow awesome custom build. It will be interesting to see how this build compared to your first AFT 1680w DH comp build. This will have a lot more power but also this bike I am guessing will be a lot heavier ? so it will be interesting to compare real world power to weight performance , speed and eff...

Had a few issues with spoke nipples biting into rim so washers and copious amounts of lube were added and all was well.
Tyre still looks small in the Monster T forks

Re: Custom Giant Dh, Lightning Rods Big Block, Nuvinci N171

Took off lower sheets and chopped the end off and repositioned the sheets and motor then welded them up.
Now i have no lower adj. on the kit and may need a chain idler on the secondary.

Re: Custom Giant Dh, Lightning Rods Big Block, Nuvinci N171

First thing i mocked it up with a few random bike bits to see how it sits and so i could flip it upside down to see if the motor fits as the welder only had some very rough measurements to work with as i had placed it on and it did not look promising as the primary was rubbing on the frame and ther ...

Re: What makes good brakes? Pistons, rotor or feedback?

I have been using Hope brakes for years on all my bikes. I found that the mono 6 was the best out of all the ones i tried. Just given the Hope v2 DH brake a go and switched back to the mono 6 with a 225mm rotor as the 6 pots had a more progressive feel and more stopping power on the same bike with t...

Not as yet, just found out that customs sent my N171 hub back to sender because they think it is worth more than stated and we did not lie about price on the customs declaration.

The only options i know of are the Rohloff or the Nuvinci N171 for a geared hub that will take that amount of power.
