Re: Hi power high voltage inverter build for nissan leaf mot

Lol cool. I will work on mine more later. I like the see though background. you will notice they don't like to start at 0 lol. Takes some math to make that work. Also I need to get my amp gauge to zero when I first turn the car on. I will try giving the current sensor a clean regulated 5v exactly f...

Re: Hi power high voltage inverter build for nissan leaf mot

Knowing the power into the system is very important to me. If all the sudden it's using power when it's not supposed to that's bad VERY bad. Also if the power is low into the system I need to figure out why. Is it a weak battery ? A bad connection? Cold batteries? Something set wrong in the control...

Re: Hi power high voltage inverter build for nissan leaf mot

I see your dial only goes up to a measly 100kW ? Lol yeah.. I am putting 610-620 amps in at 410v under load with plans to go to 750 amps on this setup. So the KW gauge would need to be higher. In fact I might change mine around to have an analog Kw and an analog Amp gauge. if you think 10...

Re: Hi power high voltage inverter build for nissan leaf mot

I have been playing about with the Nextion editor and simulator and one of things I have noticed is that is really easy to overflow the receive buffer and that once that happens the display does not respond in real time to updates. There is quite a bit of dialog on the Nextion forum about screen upd...

Re: Hi power high voltage inverter build for nissan leaf mot

Awesome thanks. Today I ground off every second tooth. Part of the reason I want as many teeth as possible is I want to use the speedo to read 0-60 times. I had it up to 160 tonight. More testing tomorrow. After finding some issues with 1 current sensor and the way the signal was getting to the bra...

Re: Hi power high voltage inverter build for nissan leaf mot

I just noticed you are in Vancouver. when do you want to go for a ride? I used a motorcycle sprocket and cut the middle out. Its 48tooth If I can make 110km/h ok with 48 I might make it 24 tooth. But I want to be sure I can read at 210-220 km/h. I will try to get time to test this as well. I have a...

Re: Hi power high voltage inverter build for nissan leaf mot

I agree 100%, the speedo is a counter not an a/d conversion so provided the interrupt is being triggered correctly there is no need to digitally filter the calculated speed. And if the interrupt is not being triggered you would use an r/c filter on the input rather than a digital filter on the dodg...

Re: Hi power high voltage inverter build for nissan leaf mot

How did the change in filter coefficient change the speedo reading? The way I read Lobowski's post was that coefficient of 1 was no filtering and 0 was filtered to death. Correct. Values of 0.7 and 0.8 are really high, if the update rate allows it 0.01 to 0.1 will give very nice filtering. You real...

Re: Hi power high voltage inverter build for nissan leaf mot

Ok thanks I found I put the speedo filtering at 0 and it was good till 110km/h then the reading goes to shit. Testing more now. By the way yes i want an odometer here is what I modded the code to get the temp sensors working. I will look more at this soon. I used a laser temp gun on the motor case ...

Re: Hi power high voltage inverter build for nissan leaf mot

Damn The speed with this was about 1/2 of the real speed. There is no filter on the amps? I need filtering on the amps more then anything... I am experimenting with it now. :EDIT this code doesnt work for speedo at all the higher the filter number the lower the speedo display is. Comment out the fi...

Re: Hi power high voltage inverter build for nissan leaf mot

Hold on. The number of samples 3 (or what ever number we want) is there for the speedo its a number of samples to average the speed from on the toothed wheel I have on the rear wheel. I want that to stay. As I want a fast but clean speedo for acceleration measurements. I use a 48 tooth wheel and av...

Re: Hi power high voltage inverter build for nissan leaf mot

Hey Arlo I have tidied your code again. The reason for functions is so you don't have to copy and paste code, so I have modified the temperature function. I have also used Lebowski's filter code on the temperature (rather than average) and the speedo. Note again I have moved the calculations for th...

Re: A2B battery help needed

Once you have the pack out, look for the BMS board (follow the wires). You can measure the cell voltages on the connector if you use some real skinny wires (be very careful not to short anything). That will tell you a lot. Charging the pack at very low current (<50ma) is a good idea if the cells ar...

Re: A2B battery help needed

Took me all this time to get the @#@#% internal battery out. It was really stuck in there and no matter how slow and steady I pulled it wouldn’t budge. Plastics straps beside the battery broke after a while. Ended up fishing a guitar wire through the open holes of the battery case and heated up (ve...
