Re: Boosted Boards Offering New Models, Lowers Price of Orig

One of my colleagues bought boosted and on the receipt I saw number 8200 something and that was couple of moths ago. The do sell a lot of boards worldwide and the price will eventually get lower. Once the design was finalized they only have to focus on production and price reduction. Do the math and...

Re: Custom Battery Packs? INTERESTED?

Well, I don't agree with you statement Onloop... I have tested cheap unbranded (fake Chinese cells) and all of them performed well enough. The only difference is that ICR or Panasonic cells give you more range with less weight. Anyone can do it....this is how you learn! I am still using these unbran...

by torqueboards » Sat Nov 01, 2014 4:35 pm @Silenthunter - Yeah, we are actually waiting to do test units and will do a bigger batch once we get closer. Wow! 30 miles a day! lol Are you swapping packs? 30 miles is a ton. My Mountain Board has a 24 amps battery (I get about 24 + miles - 0.75 amps per...

Re: Custom Battery Packs? INTERESTED?

Yes, those are the cells that Tesla is using and they have much better C rating and will last much longer than any Lipo pack...just do a search on that cell and you will see why Tesla give 8 years warranty on that battery!

Re: Custom Battery Packs? INTERESTED?

Agreed, but Recumpence is the one that used CC Hydra 160H for 5 years and no issues...and there are many others with various projects. If you set it right it will work. I used 18650 with mamba xl2 and one of them burned because this cheap ntm 50-60 prop motor wire came apart while the other motor an...

A lot of people on the bike forum are using CC Edge 160 H esc and it tuns to be working well for years. The only downsize is the 50V limit but it size, weight and ease of installation are great advantages...

Re: Custom Battery Packs? INTERESTED?

I emailed him regarding price and availability and so far no answer...:( I use my boards daily for @ 30 plus miles and I would love to put his ESC to the test. So far Mamba Xl2 does an amazing job with 11T and 64T gearing. I wish CC creates an affordable 10S esc soon like Mamba Xl3 or something... T...

Re: Custom Battery Packs? INTERESTED?

Guys, I have been using 18650 for over a year on 6S, 7S, 8S, 9S set ups for longboards, gopeds esr 750's and mountain boards. It works flawlessly, the more cells in parallel the better (C rating is more than enough). I even tested with used fake Chinese cells and the result was outstanding. I cut on...

Re: Marbel vs. Boosted vs. Evolve

If you replace the evolve batts with 18650 cells you will get a lighter board. I compared mine DIY with the evolve and it is much much lighter.

Re: DUAL E-MTB BUILD

why is it different for E-MTB? and Murfix used a alien ESC on his E-MTB as well Well they used to boards for fun....I am not saying that esc are not good, it's just not designed for this. I reduced the gear ration to 11T front and 64T rear (1:5,81). I did today 15 miles test run and seems to work we...

Re: DUAL E-MTB BUILD

Kelly controller would not work with these brushless motors unless you program them and place sensors on the motors. It seems that alien and flier controller would not work well with e mountain boards. People start to get issues with them. I think I got the longest runs with mamba XL2. I think I cov...

Re: Post your e-board videos...

There are plenty of tutorials on how to assemble e-boards on YouTube....You should post a short video of how you fabricate or design the process...make it all in one video short and concise.

Make something original, something that wasn't made before. You should also start a new thread.

Re: Lithium ion batteries for eboard or other options

Thanks, I have used couple of brands (Lg, Panasonic, Orbitec) and all worked very well. The only difference I have noticed is that panasonic cells (single cells)charge and discharge faster than other. The C rating is same or even higher than lipo's depending on the cells edition/year. I have used th...

I was thinking for a while now to buy that board too.

GuyH, you have that nice carbon fiber battery cover. You should combine them together and here is a super nice set up. Hopefully you make a dual set up for the all around carbon fiber longboard.

That will be sweet. Let's all convert to e-boards and e-mountainboards. I hope that day comes sooner when we all use small electrical vehicles. No cars, taxi, subways or trains etc.

Maybe flying portable boards :)
