Re: I have had a bad experience with OllinBoard

I had similar issue with Chaka. Purchased the vescs that did not have the bootloader. Asked for info and he ignored. Poor communication, long time and horrible customer support.

Re: Hacking a Boosted Board

The BMS is balacing my 18650 packs. I charged with the BB charger for past 4-6 months and the cells are perfectly balanced. The BB BMS will take control over the 18650 cells.

Re: Boosted Board Range Extender Battery Pack

You could connect the leads from the esc side and connect the extended pack. This way yu would not need to break the battery. I am using 18650 cells for close to a year. I have over 1000 miles and I get 20 miles per charge with 3.4 amps cells. No issues and it is much easier and you get a cleaner l...

Re: Vedder's VESC Free US shipping!!!

Placed a order with Chaka. Really disappointed! Waited for 3-4 weeks and after I contacted him for updates he just refunded me. I find this a bit inappropriate. He promised that I will get the esc in 2 weeks.

Re: DIY boosted inspired electric longboard

Awesome build. Maybe you can place those pulleys on a Bridgeport and cut a bit so you can place a bearing exactly as boosted so there is no movement and the wheels pull straight.
If you run it like that without the bearings the wheels will wobble after 6-8 months.

Re: Enertion S.P.A.C.E Cell battery on a Boosted Board

Yes, you can add the space cell but u will have to charge it up to 4.10V. I don't know how long is the pack and if it possible/enough room to fit it between the BB battery and the esc case. The you tube video was posted by me :)... 15 -16 miles is plenty of range...my feet were sore at the end off t...

Re: Hacking a Boosted Board

I finished my 10S 2.5 amp 18650 pack and connected it from the ESC. Did a circle in Central park and the entire ride 8.3 miles, speed between 15-21 mph. When I checked with my klein MM2000 voltmeter the BB pack was 37.33V and the 18650 pack 37.95V. The remote was showing empty battery. I guess I had...

Re: Hacking a Boosted Board

I think placing a 9.3 amp pack (30 cells, or 20 cells - 6.8 amps) will give so much range that I think you will never discharge the cells beyond 3.0V. I don't think the bms is really needed.

I HOPE now BB removes the speed limit.

Re: Hacking a Boosted Board

Thanks Angus, I will start building my 10S pack now. I will connect it without BMS. I can charge quickly the external pack with my Icharge 3010B to the exact voltage in order to match it with the BB pack. The 18650 can be discharged up to 2.0V with no problems. I think once you feel the decline in p...

Re: So I bought a lathe...

Hey man, really like the red set up. Could you post some more pictures of the complete board with some video footage. Did you ever consider making or looking for a wider truck? I like the evolve off road truck (16 inch width) but the only problem is the axles are 10 mm OD. Maybe you can try with a 1...

Re: Looking inside a Boosted Board

I took my boosted apart and the battery can be easily replaced with li-ion 10S same voltage but bigger capacity but my only concern is the hand remote control battery. If I increase the range of the board than I will have to increase the batt capacity of the remote to. My other concern is the built...
