Re: Neumotor 8057/75 middrive project, belt drive, adding halls, 10kW+

I've received my 8057 and I seem to have the same problem as madin with his original shaft. The fit is quite loose. With the motor bolted to a block of wood and clamped to the desk, the vibration is strong enough at 3000rpm to cause my oscilloscope to slowly wander around the desk. The motor itself...

Vasili is also working on a bigger one. Can't remember 24 or 30 FET version. Don't know when that will be ready though. Try asking him for details if you consider Vasili controller. I am already on the list of buyers for the 12F unit as i want to get rid off the Adaptto controller as soon as possib...

Re: Toyota Prius A/C Compressor Motorbike: The Bike of IPM Motor Science

Yep, pretty much. I believe the test was done at 180A. One thing to note though is that it was not the sum of the currents, but the total magnitude, so sqrt(D^2 + Q^2). And yep magic torque increase just for doing this! makes sense. Thanks for the explaination! Sort of- you can use additional D cur...

Swapping out the stock shunt for a custom shunt that is liquid cooled should take care of that fluctuating reading? I guess it will be possible to manually set the correct resistance of the shunt in the software so if the new liquid cooled shunt has different reading it will be possible to correct ...

Re: Nucular electronics - complete kit for ev!

Will the controller support field weakening (in FOC mode), and if yes, will it be possible to set a flux weaken current in ampere, or will it be some kind of phase shift in degree?

Whats the PWM frequency?

Re: Neumotor 8057/75 middrive project, belt drive, adding halls, 10kW+

I'm surprised that the controller has no way to measure phase current given the price and sophistication of the overall system. Of course they must have some kind of method to take control over the phase currents. From what i know it could be also done via Rds on of the FET's (voltage drop over FET...

I blew one midi-E, got it repaired, blew it again in one month.. Don't get much for quality with Adaptto. Do you know what caused it to blew or in which situation it gave up? Re: Toyota Prius A/C Compressor Motorbike: The Bike of IPM Motor Science

We did a bit of dyno testing on this motor, sweeping through 30 phase advances to find the optimal torque per amp setpoints at low speeds. This data was used to generate a stall table, and through other methods we were able to get a complete lookup table with acceptable performance. With all the cu...

Which version exactly, and about how much will it cost?
Is it still true that SurRon X will not be shipped outside of china, and is reserved for the domestic market?

Re: Toyota Prius A/C Compressor Motorbike: The Bike of IPM Motor Science

Nice conversion and reuse of apparently great parts from the junkjard. The BMX might be ok for tests, but i would put this drive unit at least on a larger frame with suspension. I think a Q76R frame or a similar one where the motor can be mounted to the swingarm would be a good base  The Kv of...

Do you have a link to the controller? https://github.com/TechAUmNu/A200S Uses 100v 1.5mohm mosfets but current sense ICs are limited to 75v absolute max. So 16s or below. Are you the developer of this VESC? This would be for sure a great controller for such sort of motors or generally high power RC...

Support for torque PAS sounds great and also the thing with the gearsensor (which i think is difficult to deal with to make the torque interruption smooth).

If the rotor backiron towards stator would be very coarsely threaded/slotted, let's say with 5mm pitch and a depth of 3mm.. That'd be interesting to try. One could go to a 52T sprocket on the rear and a 13T (4:1 ratio)sprocket up front and have the exact gear ratio of a 48T to 12T witch is also 4:1 ratio. I don't know if it would be any more quieter though, but performance would be real close to identical. Thats how it is. The larger the small drive...

If motor current is larger as the battery current by such a big factor (10A battery and 100A phase around 50s) than it's normally a sign of overload.
Is the size of the propeller correct and what about the motor kV? If you would use a motor with way too high kV it could look similar..

This is one of the coolest drive systems i've seen on here. i gotta ask though.. where did you get the drive sprocket holder? or was it just custom? It looks like it was designed to hook up to a bike chainring. Thanks! yes the sprocket holder is normally used to hold a cart chainring. I bought it f...

I can hit 60A but as soon as I pick up some speed it drops to 50A. At that point the motor just isn't taking more.
really also on a 12F? Because the programming app does not allow more than 45A from what i know.

Another nice feature would be to have a 1-4v analog throttle input. While skateboards would use a PWM RC receiver input, an ebike or scooter generally uses an analog hall effect throttle.
AFAIK it does have such input, but maybe Flipsky can confirm it.

Wow, you're really pushing that thing hard. I have the 12F version with 4110s and can hit peaks of 3kW but closer to 2kW for long stretches. I had to replace all the AOT290 FET's on two 12F controllers because the stock ones, which seemed to be non-genuine, broke two times (they just had a short circuit), even at very low battery voltage (13s) and low amp settings. Following thing probably has nothing todo with the initial problem, but w...

So far i have ridden more than 1000km now. Aside from the blown Max-E and other problems with the controller (more about that later) i had no issues with the drive system. The belt shows a little wear in the form of small cracks (i counted two or three on the topside on a closer inspection), but i d...
