Re: My Kentucky Fried Fingers

Maybe it has something todo with the max voltage rating of those connectors. I had a similar accident as izeman when i was connecting a charger to a 72V battery with a chinch plug. The plug turned into plasma even though there was a 5A fuse on the charger side which did not blow. The plug is rated f...

Re: Rieju 50cc conversion

Aha, "hall throttle error" Is the voltage range similar to hall based throttle? Or it is a similar problem as it is with Adaptto controllers where the so called "resistor mod" was necessary when using 5k throttle. The problem there was the low current consumption compared to a hall based throttle an...

Re: Neu 8057 6kW left hand drive hardtail with vesc and encoder

Too bad the controller got damaged and you could not fix it. I wonder if that large heatsink on the backside which looks like it covered bus bars and many other parts would have been even necessaray.. Normally it should be enough if you just cool the FET's. Are you going the build same controller ag...

Re: Rieju 50cc conversion

I had some cutouts during riding today and had the programming screen connected. Turns out that what's called "Hall error" in the program is actually "Hall throttle error"! Are the sensor wires separated from the phase wires? If not this could be the reason for the cutouts. Unlocked controller soun...

Re: Vector bike and frame owners.

What a difference in quality anyone on the fence about buying one don't be, I have used Qulbix too but the cost and the need for a proper derailleur was not popular What did you mean with "proper derailleur"? You can use a single speed freewheel and single speed chain tensioner so there is no need ...

Re: Neu 8057 6kW left hand drive hardtail with vesc and encoder

I'm thinking of something similar with the (I think inrunner) QS motor 2000w mid drive it has 120 stator diameter and 70 magnet height. It looks very high quality. Some guys use the 3000w motor in dirt bike conversions, it can take 15kw easy (11kg), so the 2000w(~7kg) should be good for 8kw minimum...

I fit helps a 22t pulley would require about 62-65mm diameter (overall with the belt on).

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Or what about a larger pulley system, perhaps L? What you could do is using a belt with more width than 12mm if it fits (next size is 21mm i think), but it still would require a 22T on the front for reasonable lifetime (at least Gates recommends it). You would not be happy if the belt is prone to f...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I have 20 tooth pulley stock which is a similar to the stock front sprocket in diameter and I will probably use that. The number of teeth engaged for the power being transmitted is way under the recommended number but hopefully that just means a shorter belt life and not the belt teeth being ripped...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I might do something weird with the rear pulley to make it easy to machine like skip every other tooth. The rear sprocket will still have way more teeth engaged than the front. The pulley stock I have for the front pulley is 32 tooth 8mm GT2 for Gates Poly Chain GT Carbon. The belt will be 12mm wid...

Re: Neumotor 8057/75 middrive project, belt drive, adding halls, 10kW+

If I remember correctly the visili controller and ASI are true FOC, and they, at least visilis controller have amazingly easy autotune, and the best part that it adjust all the timings continuously during your ride to get optimal results. Unlike the old adaptto that is not a true FOC. If no FOC wha...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

For sure the motor will need cooling if you push it too hard. Since it's an inrunner, just having a fan blowing on the outside will help a lot. For serious overpowering, it may be possible to make it water cooled. I wonder that nobody has yet disassembled the motor, measuring kV, resistance, max to...

Haha. Maybe i have to add that i had two glasses of wine before this happened. But i was for sure able to drive, and not drunk. I'm still have the impression that it is IMPOSSIBLE to cause a short with XT60s. DC voltage can be completely strange in terms of sparking. I would believe you that there ...

Re: Rieju 50cc conversion

I guess that current spikes push controller into high current error but i cannot be sure. That could be the case if your battery deoesn't sag to LVC, so if you add caps close to the controller to reduce the spikes it could solve the problem. It would also help (lower the inductance) if you twist th...

Do you mean your bearings were very loose in the stator? Able to remove with fingers? My bearings were a press fit into the stator. I did notice that one seat was a fair bit tighter than the other, with both the stock bearing and my replacements. I just used a cheap sealed bearing from On my motor ...

Hi, nice to see you got it running! I had similar problems to madin. My motor was not factory balanced and had a ton of vibration. I managed to balance the motor with by adding trial weights to the outside of the can. I don't know if the stock bearings were bad or if the vibration damaged them, but ...

Front motor is still a mxus 3k 3t, but it behaves very differently than with the max e. Much more torque, I had to reduce power to avoid burning the front tire too fast. Which makes me think I could keep it, as I was formerly thinking of a 4t for the front too wait, this 120/200A controller gave yo...

For example, lets say you run 72v 200a through a qs205 5t in a 17 inch wheel and your top speed is 60; how would the acceleration compare to a bike with the qs mid motor 72v 200a in a 17inch w...
