Re: Can a ping 48v15ah do two motors? And fullriver packs?

dogman dan, so right now I'm considering 3 methods: 1: Yours, rear rack and saddle sags 2: Top tube mount, my original idea which you just said my knees will hit means that I was going to try and make mount that holds the batteries at the middle point so it's halfway higher on the top tube. I'm stil...

Re: Can a ping 48v15ah do two motors? And fullriver packs?

Slight UPDATE: So I'm still without a charger for the 48V ping... a seller on CL had a Ping one but wanted $25 more than what Ping wanted... so instead- I picked up another Ping Battery, the 36V 30Ah one! That came with a charger! (You guys should really watch auctions and stuff on ebay...) The reas...

Re: Solar Charger Controller as an alt. to the Cycle Satiato

Oh I wasn't hoping it would be a direct replacement but more of the functionality of it for $40. I have a radioshack 12V huge amp power supply and can now turn that into a multiple voltage battery charger which seems pretty cool for the price. My main concern when I posted this was somewhat reassura...

Re: Can a ping 48v15ah do two motors? And fullriver packs?

Dogman, and everybody else- I just wanted to thank you. My main concern, like many others is the limited budget factor and reliability over performance (at least for me). It seems like the debate is between 3 ideas- all 3 of which is that it will "work" but will it put strain or destroy (long term) ...

Solar Charger Controller as an alt. to the Cycle Satiator?

So in my quest of cheapness, I already ordered a few of those Meanwell chargers from the other thread as a means of slow charging my 48v packs. However, I recently discovered this device: MPT-7210A MPPT Solar Charge Controller For about $35 it looks like it takes in any voltage above 12V and then bo...

Can a ping 48v15ah do two motors? And fullriver packs?

So I ended up with a Ping 48V 15ah battery pack. I currently have one of those ebay 1000w front kits. *Currently works great except the BB5s are too tall for the motor casing. I have coming a ebikekit.com 350W rear geared motor kits. I've done a ton of reading on 2wd, batteries, etc... so I'm guessi...

A top tube battery box? Just saw this interesting CL post.

I have seen people asking for something similar but I've only seen top tube bags, etc.... but check this guy out! Here's his full CL posting: http://bakersfield.craigslist.org/bik/5918961596.html

But I just thought that was a very interesting battery box and I don't think I've seen one like it yet.

Re: $800 Catalyst Components R1 Frame - InternalBattery 48v1

I've been watching this sale for so long but I think you forgot to mention what size the frame is? If I somehow make it out with a >$500 win in Vegas this weekend I'll shoot you a message. But this is a great deal, a 48v 15ah battery normally goes for $4-500 by itself so with the frame and your addi...

So I've seen this new friction drive on CL a few times now

Looks like they're in Minneapolis and for $190, isn't that terrible if it works and is a turnkey. *I have no experience or relation to them.

Quick Noob Question in regards these li-on packs?

Why can't I just buy 6 of these to make a cheap 50V battery?

I also figured if I just use 4mm plugs, I could wire them like how lipo packs are made and even distribute the weight better too. But I figured it might be due to the lack of BMS?

Re: What eBike stuff is Santa going to bring you?

So I just won my second kit for my project... I ended up scoring one of those 1000w ebay kits for $110, though it was listed for rear, it was a front which I didn't really care. I just won another auction for the rear now, which is the ebikekit's 350w geared hub. So now my 2WD plans is slowly coming...

Re: Should I buy a 135mm front fork? (Correct me if I'm wron

You don't have to worry about my bike, it's a KHS 29er, steel frame and fork with horizontal dropouts... It had originally started as "let's build a 2WD electric bike" but after winning a brand new Nexus-4 with electronic/automatic shifting groupset on ebay it turned into a FWD project. On the other...

Should I buy a 135mm front fork? (Correct me if I'm wrong)

Man... I've been lurking here for so long... at last, I'm about to get my front hub kit but I wanted to know what's the smarter idea. I came to the conclusion (based on my reading) that dropout width is a limitation to power and because of this it's harder to get a good front hub without overheating...

Is this a viable idea? Disc Brake driven bike?

I've been a long time lurker and an avid cyclist, manage a small bike shop actually. I'm a recumbent rider, and have ridden quite a few hub motor bikes, they're great but feel a bit weight sluggish. (Thank god Lithium batteries were invented) I recently came across this: http://www.gizmag.com/velolo...
