Re: MXUS coming out with a 5K-Turbo motor, 55mm Magnets

A few of us have some samples incoming, but MXUS just told us the order was delayed due to "Paint" issues...

I guess they want them to look pretty since they know we are going to plaster tons of revealing images of them on this thread.

Re: XPD: open-source keywin e-bike lab replacement

What could be wrong with my 18Fet infineon KH618 controller. I have been succesfully flashed it with xpd-ebike program many times. Now I tried the original chinese programming software, cause I read it was more solid. The programming went fine but I accidentally turned to throttle regen on. Now whe...

Re: Post your DRAG RACE ebike run !!

Fast and quick. I embarrass motorcycles on a daily basis. When you're ready to make it interesting, then I'll go to the trouble of going to the track and getting enough evidence to satisfy the naysayers. I'm not into grandstanding, but I'm not going to sit idly by while claims I know to be inaccura...

Re: Kilowatt Bag Holds Over 2 KWh of LiPo or 18650's $80

I had a question recently about the quality of the stitching, and the interested buyer noted that most of the battery bags they have used in the past would rip apart eventually. Indeed, I experienced this with my Ibera triangle bag on the first ebike I built. I pointed out was that my Kilowatt bag i...

Re: Paratrooper Build

Also worth verifying what axle is on the motor you ultimately purchase. If it's an M16 Axle (Some MXUS 3K-Turbo motors use this axle size), then the grin universal torque arms will not fit. (They are for M14 and M12 size).

Re: Kilowatt Bag Holds Over 2 KWh of LiPo or 18650's $80

will 12 18650 fit in the bottom of the bag without the black spacers? The bag has an internal dimensions of 78mm x 225mm, so if the cell is 18.5mm diameter or less, then yes, 12 should fit, without spacers. Also the closed cell foam padding liner does stretch a bit (Though the Cordura & Nomex fabri...

Re: How to mount the darn controller!

I agree with Chalo, but would add that if feasible, and you have the connectors, shortening the wires to be "just long enough" makes the install a LOT more tidy. A chunk of "lizard Skin" like what's used on DH chain stays, makes a clean covering at the controller's wiring as well. https://www.amazon...

Thanks for the thorough recap of this tragedy, Dan. Let it be a lesson to all of us.

Just another example that one can never be too trusting with their batteries, even when equipped with a "BMS" and a "smart charger".

And that it can happen to ANYONE.

Re: Kickstand for EEB type bike.

Best thing I've found are these moped kick stands. You have to grind off the inner tabs, though.

https://www.treatland.tv/tomos-BLACK-si ... ck-013.htm

They tend to be a bit short if using 26" wheels. For 19" / 24" wheels, they work ok.

I've still got a 12 bags available from this batch.

Just a reminder: You can fit up to 20S-32Ah (2.3 KWh) of Multistar packs in this bag.

bikesdirect.com sells some great donor bikes for converting to electric. I have done several, all with fantastic results.

I would recommend getting the bike first, and taking measurements before purchasing any electric kits.

Have you looked at the Tangent Ascent drive options? The 3KW one might be a good fit, and I'd bet Dave could figure out how to adapt the mounting bracket for the carbon frame.
