Re: Grin Phase Runner / CA3 and BBSHD

Went for the first test ride this weekend. Gotta say I like it. With a Stock 42T Front Chainring and 42T tall rear, it threw me off the bike. Lost a flip flop (sandal) in the process, also, but did manage to stay on my feet, at least. A couple more notes for guys still building: PAS Set-up: 1. Be su...

Re: Grin Phase Runner / CA3 and BBSHD

Figured out the Hall Sensor error. The phase wire connector came loose at the Phaserunner unit. Plugged it back in and Autotune seemed to work fine.

Re: Grin Phase Runner / CA3 and BBSHD

So just getting my BBSHD + Phaserunner wired up. Got some issues, but first I'll enlighten you all to a bit of useful info. The Purple wire from the BBSHD motor is the 10K NTC sensor. All you need to do to monitor the temp with a CA3 display is run this purple wire up to the temp input of the CA (Us...

Hi Yes you can Hook up 2 Motors.
I have a quick question Can you hook up 2 displays? And work? One for info Other had rfid Sensor to limit speed??? Please Inform me
One display can do both. Just get a DPS model CA, and use the remote speed sensor magnet on a wheel.

35mm DD Hub build on a Full Suspension Comfort bike

It's been a long time since I did an in-depth build post, but I've been so enamored with this latest build, I wanted to share the details of it with the Sphere. Lately, I've been focused on building great commuter bikes. Main considerations include moderate power (1500W-2000W), high efficiency, comf...

Re: "Edge" DD hubmotor, 1500W, 35mm, Al core

I will try a little harder to reach either one of them as their websites seem to be sold out or offline ? I was hoping to find someone with a melted motor who could sell me some magnets. Afraid I haven't melted any of the 35mm DD hubs yet. If you need MXUS 45mm rotor parts, I've got plenty in a pil...

People are saying the 4t can handle more power/ is more efficient than the 3t? Could someone explain a little please. Looking to buy one and I want atleast 50mph/80kmh. But if the 4t is really that much more efficient I'll get one and overvolt. Thank you The 4T has one more strand of .5mm copper ma...

Re: Standard formula for Calculating Ebike Range

With respect to lower wattage limits and slower top speeds for other Countries (i.e. 250W limit, and 25 KPH Top Speeds in many countries) it might make sense to add the following range calculation, which due to the slower top speed, would naturally be MORE efficient, and correlate to longer range fo...

Standard formula for Calculating Ebike Range

There is absolutely NOTHING more confusing to the inexperienced ebike purchaser that understanding potential range with respect to the ebikes they are considering. So many ebike manufacturers and retailers embellish range claims using tricks that we experienced ebikers know are deceptive at best and...

Re: KIT: 45mm DD Hub / 19" Moto / 18F Sine Wave / CA3 $799.95

My own branding...no MXUS logo. that's a downgrade that dimishes resale value. you'll need to sandblast that off or lower the price by what it costs to have it done professionally. It actually makes it very easy for me to identify motors that I have sold, so I can provide support and warranty for t...

Re: Killed hub motor on 1st run, lots of friction now.

If controller is a KT model (Based on your comment regarding the display being a KT-LCD3), then I would recommend replacing the controller. Another KT controller would be easy to swap out, but they are pretty modest controllers, honestly. The 12FET ones, with pseudo sine wave are decent, though. Get...

Re: "Edge" DD hubmotor, 1500W, 35mm, Al core

The 4T winding is about 11 RPM per volt, so at 72V Nominal, you are pushing upwards of 800 RPM. In a 20" Wheel, that would be close to 50 MPH top speed.
Great Motor in a small wheel, paired with a great controller and the respectable Samsung 30Q cells. It's a hard combo to beat.

Re: Seal hub with silicone?

Hey Guys, Is it smart to seal the hub's side covers with silicone? I've seen it done but I learned that if something is 99% sealed it's worst than 90% sealed since the moisture that may get sucked into the hub when it's hot will have a harder time getting out (if ever). Don't seal. Drill a few Weep...
