Re: E-Car Wheel Hub Retrofit Kit

remember.... this type of "Retro fit Hybrid" will only save fuel IF you dont use the extra "performance" that is available. IE.. you have to deliberately use less ICE power ! How realistic is that ? If the retrofit hooks up to the car throttle, which it has to in order to work, then it seems pretty...

Re: Dear America,

It was the Port Arthur massacre in Australia where a guy that looked a lot like Kurt Cobain killed 45 people with a semi automatic rifle that caused the gun laws to change here. The child massacre could be the one for the US. It was a child massacre in a school here that caused our gun laws to radi...

Re: I did a gun-control petition

Thing I read: Those folks that are advocating iron clad gun control and/or confiscation should put a sign in their home window and on their car(s) that reads: "Gun free zone." We should then check back in 6 months and a year to compile the statistics to determine if their theory was correct. The cu...

Re: I did a gun-control petition

IMHO, the NATO 5.56/.233 round is used because it's the perfect industry driving thing to be hit with (because it's likely to cause wounds rather than deaths, wounds mean more hospitals, medicine, transport vehicle infrastructure, along with a new soldier to replace the wounded one), and it's a com...

Re: I did a gun-control petition

FWIW, .223 is a military (specifically NATO) standard round, know here as the 5.56mm (which, funnily enough, is 0.223 inches). The M16, SA80A2, LSW, AR15, Bushmaster all use the same calibre round. . I know nothing about the round personally..(only that as you say the 5.56mm is the standard NATO ro...

Re: Dear America,

That's funny, I would say those numbers back up Thud. Gives me the idea that the homocides per 100,000 FIREARMS is probably the lowest in the world. Don't know the current numbers, but historically there are more than 3 times the homocides by people being beat to death by baseball bats than by bein...

...Can I have really blown a FET? I only went up to 80A for a second or two... ...and it worked fine at less than 10A for the remainder of the two minute ride. It wasn't until I removed the shunt and put it onto the other side of the board (for easier access) that the wheel had more resistance on i...

Re: Dear America,

The real problem is the the US freely allows nutters and unstable individuals to own and access guns. It seems that when massacres like the most recent one occur, it isn't criminals or gangs that have access to illegal weapons that are the perpetrators, it is unstable individuals, often individuals ...

Re: What controller do I have and 48V to 72V on it?

Guuuyyss... I think I enabled regen braking or some wheel lock accidentally. I don't know how I did it and I can't take it off. Wheel is difficult to turn, even when battery isn't connected. ...unhooking one of the phase wires disables this "lock". Is this really how much stopping power rege...

News reports here are saying that gun sales have increased 43% since the theatre shooting in the US earlier this year. I guess that's exactly what's needed, the problem was clearly that there weren't enough guns around to stop that massacre from happening.................................

Re: What controller do I have and 48V to 72V on it?

That controller isn't known to me, but is clearly programmable via the interface port shown on the photos. There's no way of knowing what has been programmed into it though, so trying to mod it to get the sort of increase you're looking for would be a voyage of discovery, and TBH probably not worth ...

The most amazing thing to me still is the perception that we are all running amuk with our guns drawn...It just isn't the reality of America. I hate to say this, but the statistics (and I know, lies, etc) say otherwise. Here's a league table of homicides from firearms per 100,000 population for a f...

Re: Dear America,

The reason for the 2nd amendment, and if you listen to the wording it is clear, is not for an individual to protect ones self or family from a burglar. It is for a civilian population to protect themselves from a tyrannical government. The British had done everything they could think of to maintain...

Re: Dear America,

I'm sure that gun laws aren't the only factor that acts to massively increase the homicide rate in the US when compared to many other Western countries, but the ready availability of firearms does, I am certain, lead to more people being killed. The fact that someone can easily pull a gun on another...

I'd like to see this get to the market, as it's such a practical bike. I'm certain there is a global need for this sort of bike, and not just for delivery services like the post. The practicality of the narrow wheel base, yet it's inherent stability, with no fear of it falling over, plus the load ca...

Re: Does More Power Sometimes Decrease Rider Satisfaction?

I started out with a fair bit of power, but find that the ebike I like best, and ride most, is the light one with the low power motor. The reasons aren't that straightforward, I think. The light bike is much nicer to ride than the heavier bikes, which is certainly one plus point. The power assist an...

The reason you don't here these interventions making big news is because they prevent major news stories. 2 people shot instead of 15 makes it much more routine; news coverage demands sensationalism. Just let someone step in with another gun and hit an innocent bystander, THEN it'll be headlines. T...

In fact remaining unarmed is so completely normal, that anyone who isn't a security guard or cop and is wielding a concealable firearm is clearly up to no good.
