Re: Poor man's ebike?

look on eclipsebikes they have cheap cyclone kits they work well Interesting Feeback, thank you. I do not know cyclone motors. Are they noisy ? Same mounting system as Bafang's ? Same power ? Just find an affordable kit with 7 speed freewheel. If your bike is 8 speed, then just adjust your deraille...

Re: Did I kill my battery?

the chances are it killed the bms the best thing you can do is take the pack outside and take it apart and see if you can find the bit that let the smoke out post up some pictures and we will do what we can to paint you in the right direction

Re: Noob project: Cheap and easy

you might want to look at a 1260w or 1680w cyclone kit it would get you to 25mph no problem good wh/mile downside is that you need to tinker with them every now and then but i have had no major issues with the cyclone motors in 70,000 miles changed a bunch of gears and drive train components due to ...

Re: 48volt controller max amp

why stick with 48v ? it seems silly to go into the hundreds of amps range when you could just double the voltage 100A is 4800w once you hit power like that its so much better to go up in voltage

Re: Replacing my Lipo setup

Odd that RC lipo cells died on you? You can't fix those dead cells, but it might be fine to replace the dead packs and continue till the older packs die. 10c discharge rating on that lifepo4? Not a chance. But if they can stand 3c, then you could get away with using them if your 40 amps burs...

seems odd that a pack would die like that it would be worth taking a look to see what actually went wrong as you might beable to fix the pack

Re: Lipo RC chargers

if you have the money the i charger 4010 is top notch i run mine with 3 server psu and it can charge anything i can throw at it Great charger, but WAY overkill for his needs. It's like having an AR-15 to shoot hummingbirds. But, I would suggest something in the iCharger brand. In my estimation, the...

Re: Have you noticed that some drivers, purposely move over.

to be honest i tend not to undertake cars as you are far more likely to get knocked off if there is traffic i will overtake just like all the motorbikes do its far safer that way in over 100k bike miles clocked i have only been hit 2 times both on roundabouts one was some idiot cutting across lanes ...

Re: Line Load on power wires

How much distance between battery pack and controller? TBH, I've never found need for 10ga wire. 12ga is what I run 40A service from a trailer using several feet of 12ga wire. The length is from the controller on my downtube to my backpack. 8awg is what i use with xt 90s for my backpack wires at 40...

Re: First battery Almost done - Thanks Endless sphere

The battery looks good !!! make sure you have all the balance wires the right way around if they are fine you might just be unlucky and have a dead BMS on another note have you made your you have the charge and the output wires the right way as some bms have separate tabs for that

Re: too long battery wires will kill controllers

I am bored of seeing this thread For the average user this will make near 0 difference and there is much more important things for people pulling less than 40 battery amps ( 2kw on a 48v setup) a new controller for a low power setup is not expensive and functionality outweighs the cost of a controll...
