Re: Battery concern.

potentially you can damage the battery or the BMS you could always get a 2nd battery and run in parallel for double the power change the BMS if the cells can take it

if your willing it might be worth talking a look at the internals and seeing what cells it has inside

Re: 1970 Vespa 50s electrification project

use the bms output to switch a fused connection direct from the battery to the controler ( just fit a key switch in the wire from the bms to the relay/contactor )

Re: Formula E drivetrains ?

Dead is dead..... Does it mattter if its a 240v jolt , or a 1 kv flash that does the deed ? ...Neither of them is a joke. There is alot of difference between a AC and a DC shock been shocked by 240v AC a bunch ( light switch in the shed that i have now fixed) and 600v dc from a fairly big cap...

Re: Electric Cargo-bike POWER system for steep terrain?

cyclone motor kit with better brackets and the right gearing will tow a car lol i would go with the 1680w if the law allows it wont be the fastest but it will take you up anything as long as you can hold on given the right ratio

with 18650s i only go down to 3.3v ( you can normally see the obvious point on a discharge graph) and up to 4.1v to get the highest cycle life vs capacity from them keep the charge rate low when you can ( 1/4c when you have 4h and no more than 1c when you need a faster charge ) Thank you for your a...

Re: Why are more of you DIYers not in the e-bike business?

I note that most of the negative objections responded here would apply to any business, not just e-bikes. So those folks should not consider going into a business of ANY KIND. I think you are %100 right and it also answers your initial question "Why are more of you DIYers not in the e-bike business...

Everytime I see the title of this thread, I think of people using drill motors, battery mower motors, tread mill motors and the like. Thats the ultimate poor mans ebike. On and Off no throttle. i would hate on off on my bike i would spend to much time chasing it down the road reminds me of my first...

Re: Why are more of you DIYers not in the e-bike business?

Had a good long chat with the owner of my local bike shop today about e-bikes and we agree that its something that would be awesome to do but the liability factor is a pain in the ass if you sell a bike that's over the legal maximum it can cause no end of problems that's not counting issues with bat...

Re: Jehu record breaking 749 miles on a single charge

to be honest even 2000 miles is possible if you could be bothered to spend the money and drive that far i am sure tesla will do the first 1000 mile drive Interesting stuff but even Elon states you would have to drive at 20-30 Mph to get 800 miles out of a Tesla not exactly real world driving, FWI J...

Your pack construction/welding becomes most important at the high current / cell levels.
I sent a PM
8P tesla cells should not go over 80A peak 40A continues if you want them to last
