Speaking of gasoline versus electric vehicles. When I look at my Honda Odessey it is just insane how complicated it is technically. When you think common sense here, it is almost designed to waste energy of gasoline. Minimum 60% converted to heat? Just automatic trans has close to 100 parts with eno...

BiGH, I also wonder about it. It had never been mentioned what kind of EVtech LiPoly are there. Are they Cobalt type ? Even specifications say just LIPOLY. I completely agree with Tyler Durden agaist buying pack if cells cannot be identified, particulary cells which has no markings, no manufacturer ...

Yes, it was radiculous to blame battery fire just , because fire happened in EV company. However speaking of day-by- day precations on Cobalt based batteries: "to charge them with constant supervision..and in fire=proof .... " The point is that that precations ask for too much of the hassle for aver...

Watts'up has been very reable for hundreds of km , I never regret spending on it. However on bicycles like TF which have power save mode/power turns off afer 5min no use/ you loose all data .
Meduza is better for downloading to PC , it save data, WUP doesn't.

Yes, Good quality regen-capable motor controller is essentilal, software controlling it is even more important. Very slight pulling of left brake lever activate regen on TF. Controller must have capabilities to allow energy to pass to battery from rotating motor with reverse rotating magnetic field....

Hi Regen on my TF works like charm, grinding rims trying to stop even from 30km/h is seems so archaic. On 15% downhill TF regen keeps TF at 10km/hour. The beauty is the faster speed you brake from the strongest dragging force from motor working as generator. And think about it in wet weather, think ...

Advice in one of the posts in this thread on TF forum to to keep disputed LIpOLY on charger only that long 4hours sounds like real hazard, what if somebody forget to disconnect the pack. Imagine asking tradesmen on construction site to remember to disconnect packs after say 4 hours. It is designer/m...

I would consider buying only if you read from the sticker on battery so I can get some info from LEVT service company how old is the hub. NMH as you know develops cristalization if not exercised /slowely discha...

no drag of motor? Magnets moved away from rotor?
That is curious, is not?

My TF cruser like all TF has regen breaking which works like wonder. Just touch left lever and 29kg bike slowes down like a champ with minimal pads wear. Tghank you for answer! Yes, TF will not activate regen into battery untill is 20% discharged /one bar lost from SOC/ . It must damp the regen current into some resistor before this happens. High voltage cut out - never heard of this on TF. Very good observation about back EMF. For the sake of saving...

Pack made of Milwakee V18 packs

Hi! I want to build 36V/6Ah pack from V18 Milwakee batteries 2S2P . Each V18 is 18V /3Ah. I am not sure what to do with BMS module inside. But for sure this BMS plays very important role during charging, as Milwakee V18/V28 charger manual says BMS inside battery makes sure cells are balanced, at lea...
