Re: Ebay Blank Pro 83mm Flywheels

I've tried to get 78A clones but they seem just as hard if not the exact same as 80A. I purchased some on eBay 97mm 78A to double check someone elses quality. The wheels work good IMO but if you are particular about the duro. Your better off getting 78A Kegel's and/or 78A Seismic's. Currently, beet...

Ebay Blank Pro 83mm Flywheels

Anyone ever compare the cheapo $30 ebay flywheels to actual Abec 11 flywheels? I'm starting to get annoyed at the loud "thump thump" when I ride over expansion gaps in sidewalks, and I'm wondering if it is because I'm using cheap wheels. They don't specify a durometer (no surprise) so perhaps they a...

Re: Details about DIYElectric Welded Motor Mount

Well right now I have a homemade bolt-on motor mount that is not rigid enough to function, so I was hoping to replace it with a welded mount. I have a 70T belt so that comes out to a center distance of 89.37mm. But I'll gladly buy a new belt.

Re: Details about DIYElectric Welded Motor Mount

Looks like it will fit my mountainboard with a 15T and 50T pulley, but the 8" wheel will cover the motor bolts, and I won't be able to tighten them once the wheel is on. Might be able to tighten the bolts with just the wheel hub on, then add the tube and tire once it's tight.

Details about DIYElectric Welded Motor Mount

Does anyone know the center distance provided by the DIYElectric Welded Motor Mount? There seem to be 2 different options for SK3 motors. And will it fit the Turnigy Aerodrive SK3 - 6374-149kv? Thanks!

Re: Fast electric longboard – Dual hub motor

I thought this was an april fools joke when I read the original post, between the crazy performance and no pic showing the hub motor. Looks like you have a very special board, I hope you share as much as possible so others can duplicate the method. People have been saying the VESC runs very cool eve...

Re: Onda Longa electric long board build

Those are meant for Caliber trucks, which have a cross-section of about 18mm by 20mm, as well as one curved side on the longer dimension. Judging by the pics, your trucks look bigger than that.

Carbon fiber boards are not designed to have much flex. They are meant to be extremely lighter than wood.

Re: built advice with battery C for 4KW kit and T5 pulley

Likewise, if all you can find is polycarb reinforced with fiber, then buy them and fill in the hollow section with epoxy, and it will work fine. Just make sure to drill the bolt holes in the 36T before filling it in with epoxy, to make life easier.

Maybe it is a torque issue, because it is optimized for such a high speed (20 - 25 mph).

Re: Source for dual motor mount to fit MBS Matrix trucks?

Yeah if someone made a bolt-on that fit the MBS ATS trucks I would buy it. Although because it does not exist, and weld-on ones are common, it might be cheaper to just ship your trucks to someone who makes the weld-on and get them to weld it and ship it back.

Re: Electric Penny Nickel (27")

Hmm that matches what I used, and yeah I left the temp pin open. Wonder why plugging in the sensor board with cause the 5v rail to show up as 1.5v... I checked the resistances between the pins on each sensor chip and did not see anything strange.

Re: Electric Penny Nickel (27")

Yeah I did a little bit of troubleshooting with the sensor, and one problem is I get 1.5 volts across the gnd and +5 points... I'm using the Turnigy Trackstar 150A GenII 1/8th ESC, and it's possible that the sensor pin-out I found online was incorrect.

Re: Portable friction drive setup

the lower the kv the lower the top speed. Yep this is true, but because friction drive is like a 1:1 ratio (that motor is roughly the size of a wheel), you need something even lower than 190kv. I think Alien Power has a 130kv motor. Speed might not be a big deal, but what will be a big deal is if y...

Re: Portable friction drive setup

Yes if you want 6S, you need an ESC that supports 6S. But a 190kv motor running at 6S will give you a top speed of 30-40 mph, so the result is a board that goes too fast and does not have enough torque at the speeds that matter. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Electric Penny Nickel (27")

Updated original post with more info! I'm starting to get use to the narrow skateboard stance, I make sure both feet are inward from the wheels so the board does not shoot out from under me. It's so small and light, which is perfect for leaving in the trunk of the car.

Re: Portable friction drive setup

Yeah 3S is pretty low, but then again since it is friction drive and a 190kv motor, you would have trouble getting to the top speeds anyway.

Re: Community Project - All.In.One CARBON FIBER DECK

1. Will always vary. This is a major difficulty, because some people like to run 10s10ah packs, others only need 6s5ah, and want to swap over. Either way, you will exclude the large pack users or have a much larger deck/cavity than needed. Is an overly large cavity that bad? It won't add to the wei...
