Re: Newbie E-Board Build (advice needed)

I ran a board with this ESC without the fans. Just make sure to get good air flow to it.

Re: PATA ribbon cable as a balancing wire (need advice)

@RLT does have a point. I realize I've only used the silicone wires from the balance plugs.

Re: PATA ribbon cable as a balancing wire (need advice)

Have you tried charging like this yet? The small gauge wire should hold up to 2.5 amps without getting warm.

Re: ESC Problem?

Definitely worth playing around with. The Hobbyking brand ESC's like to hesitate under medium to hard acceleration. The higher the timing, the less likely it is that the hesitation will happen. I've taken my hardest fall to date because of that. Punch control I usual leave at the lowest setting.

Re: ESC Problem?

I run the 150a x-beast with a 63mm motor with about the same specs as the motor you have listed. They'll be fine together. I hope you also got the programming card, as this makes programming a breeze. I would suggest the LED program card. The LCD programming card has a lot of parameters and may get ...

Re: NEWBIE PART 1 :... Single Motor Choice ?

That's probably close to accurate. Here's another calculator that seems to work well: http://toddy616.blogspot.com/2013/07/el ... lator.html if you want a second opinion. 14t would work also. You'd roughly loose about 2mph on your top speed, but gain more torque.

Re: NEWBIE PART 1 :... Single Motor Choice ?

That would work. You'll have a little more torque at 2.4 to 1. But if your running 8 - 10s you'll still have a pretty good top speed also. I'm sure if you search a little you'll be able to find a post with the proper way to calculate your top speed.

Re: NEWBIE PART 1 :... Single Motor Choice ?

Get a Tacon Big Foot 160 before they sell out. http://www.hobbypartz.com/96m608-bigfoot160-5335-245kv.html Ditto! These are great motors for the price. Definitely if your going single. My friend is 230lbs and this motor moves him around fine with 2 to 1 gearing.(20t on motor and 40t on 83mm wheels)

Re: Stary Wanna-Be Using Pediglides Single Hub Motor

I've never felt that the single hub pushes to one side. Then again I'm running 6s. Depending on your ESC you can start from a dead stop. The VESC, obviously, is going to be your best bet for this with out the use of hall sensors, but I would still recommend pushing off. Sensors in the motor would ul...

That does look like a quality deck. Unfortunately, it looks like your gonna have to do a split or flexible enclosure.

Re: First Build Single Hub Motor Board Advice?

Welcome! I'm running the same set-up with 6s. Just don't try to go up any big hills and you'll be fine. Make sure to get the program card for the ESC. I have the brakes set to 100 % and it stops pretty well. If you go with the 90mm wheels you should be able to hit 28mph on flats easy, depending on y...

Re: 4s 5000mah Hardcase for $14.99!

Awesome price! They've been having some ridiculous sales lately. 6S 5200mah for $27.99. This one is a hit for the Ebike users. 10x packs for $149.99!!! 5 sets of 8S 5ah This didn't even seem like a sale. They normally put a line through the original price. That's why I thought it may have been a ty...

Re: Stary Wanna-Be Using Pediglides Single Hub Motor

I know I've posted this example once before but I can't seem to find it. So here are two examples of a single 6s balance charge port using the adapter you listed. Basically you wan't to remove the positive wire from the adapter for which ever battery is feeding the negative to the esc. This is if yo...

Re: Stary Wanna-Be Using Pediglides Single Hub Motor

Correct. The main battery leads are used to charge the battery then the small wires that go to each cell are to balance it. Again, I am not an expert on this but it seems to work so far. Not sure on those batteries. They probably have adhesive or double sided tape holding them together. I just used ...

From the numbers I've entered in the calculator as they pertain to my boards, this calculator is pretty accurate. The more "real" numbers would be the "weighted" numbers.

Re: Stary Wanna-Be Using Pediglides Single Hub Motor

I just ordered most of the parts I need for my Eboard and I was wondering how you wired your BMS? On the eBay listing for that BMS it shows different wiring then what you did, I think. If you could send me a diagram or just kinda explain it that would be great! Also are you using a switch to turn y...

This board with me on it (175 lbs) can go almost 30mph. I can get up small hills also. I'm running 6 cells right now but would suggest 8 cells, if you can.

Re: Stary Wanna-Be Using Pediglides Single Hub Motor

So, I had to open up this board. A couple of the wires apparently got disconnected. I took some pics of the BMS. I also checked the voltages in the individual cells and they were pretty well balanced(.01 - .02 volts off)
