Re: Cycle Analyst Showing 300 watts at Idle

It should be as easy as it looks. 300W watts power with no mechanical movement is 300W of heat. Case 1: You will locate this easily, touch motor, controller, battery and wires, there must be anything too hot at contact. Case 2: You won't locate any heat focus, there are not 300W wasted anywhere, CA ...

Re: Looking at building a bike, got questions

1000W motor at 48V will get ~40KPH easily so if you get a 20A continuous controller, and a cheap 9C 1000W Hub motor, then You could spend the rest of the money on a good 48V 12Ah (with a case) - 20Ah (without a case) battery, and won't be more than $600 - $800.

Re: Ballancing 18650's. Charged voltage leeway between batte

I suppose You are not using a BMS, and the charging is done with an individual cell charger. If You want to balance the cells on the high V cut, let them on the charger a pair of hours after the charge is finished. Then all the cells should be on 4.20 exactly during a week or two. Remember that you ...

Re: High School team in the Shell Eco Marathon needs your he

Don't worry about the BMS, that's choose the right one and plug, but how to build the battery is another Story. I have not seen any info about how much Ah should have the lithium battery, neither the motor Watts. That's essential to choose the right BMS. As the rule is not to exceed 48V nominal 60W ...

It has not ports. All You can do is attaching the hand probes inside the machine, and could exchange instead of the main poles. also the food switch must be done hand craft exchanging the switch is has for the pulses, and attaching a foot pedal connected as a switch

Batteries: http://www.electricrider.com/LiFePO4-Lithium-72V-20AH-Electric-Bike-Battery-p/lif7220-14.html You could build a 1500Wh battery with high quality cells for not more than ~$600. And It wouldn't be difficult to buy one for ~1000$ in EU. I think You should check other suppliers before purcha...

Re: Is it ok to unplug battery from charger before...

Is it ok to unplug the battery from the charger before the charging is complete, or does it affect its longevity? Yes, you maximize longevity :D As far as I know, there is not even one reason in lithium chemistry to have any benefit on charging a cell till 100% (~4.2V). Omitting balance purposes, c...

I just dont see "high capacity" and "hi discharge" is possible in one sentence. I dont know why you are limiting yourself to that particular type of battery case and those scarce options of cells on most important piece of hardware on e-bike. I think that "high capacity" is the best friend of "high...

25A on a 5p pack is pushing it, but should be ok. Lot's of sag.

I think a 5p of these would work like a charm with a 15A or even a 20A continuous BMS
